Today St. Francis couldn't finish its NEC schedule without a conference blemish by losing to Wagner, 31-24, while the Dukes' set several individual player records in their romp over woeful Central Connecticut State, 52-19. SFU, 7-4 (5-1), and the Dukes, 8-3 (5-1), are the NEC co-champs, but SFU will represent the NEC in the FCS playoffs because of its close victory over the Dukes on October 21, 2016, 14-10. While it would've been great if the Dukes could have made a late game comeback and beaten the Red Flash, I'd rather see SFU's football team go to the FCS playoffs than, say, Robert Morris. Good luck to the Red Flash in their first round game.

RMU, 2-9 (1-5), had another crappy football record for the third year in a row with John Banaszak at the coaching helm. He was granted only a one-year contract extension by RMU's AD. With a three-year record of 7-16 (26.9%) as Bobby Mo's head football coach, I would imagine that he'll have a hell of a time trying to recruit top notch talent. I wonder what record must he have next season to avoid being fired.
