Stew, I wish I knew. I have floated a couple theories:
1. We're going to have a 53-man roster, like the Steelers. Plus a 10-man taxi squad.
2. We are only recruiting players who come from wealthy families, so we're not putting anyone on scholarship.
3. We're going to be the only program in the nation fielding varsity, JV, and freshman teams.
4. We're going to have 13 scholarship players, and 13 walk-ons.
5. We've really only recruited 13 players, but they each have 2-3 names.
I think now that practice is starting we'll start to get to the actual story. Who knows, maybe injuries, grades, or other factors are creating this unprecedented influx.
