Duquesne Dukes Fan Forum / How will last years success translate into attendance for next season?

Would like to go to a Duquesne home game against Dayton where the Cooper Field House is full of Duquesne fans
instead of the Bluffites playing in front of 1,500 Dayton fans.Is this scenario possible.?

Stew...great question. But the issue won't be Dayton or the Bonnies. We have folks that come out for those games. It will be the other ones where very few students show up.

If you look at last year, the attendance seemed to be a little better but not much. But the issue wasn't the adults. Again, it's the students. The history isn't there over the last 10 years for student attendance. It would be nice if those in charge of this endeavor would contact other A-10 schools who get good student attendance i.e. George Washington, George Mason, etc. I am not including the Bonnies or Dayton as those are outliers with history. We need schools similar to us where the only game in town isn't college basketball.

Last years momentum was crushed by the 0-5 start to the A-10. Granted, the Dukes won after that, but only until the last few games did the season look credible. But now, winning the A-10 Championship and a win in the NCAA, and returning a solid core, along with Coach Dru now, and a very impressive recruiting class, the attendance follows winning. When RE took that first year team, and suddenly ran off 5 strait wins to start the A-10 season, we sold out the Polumbo against R.I. that very next game. The fans are out there, just win. Winning solves everything. RE's next two years, some games were moved to the Pens Arena , to accommodate crowds of 5 to 6 thousand fans. This team coming in this year has a likely chance of packing the house every game. Very likely.
