Unlike other local outlets, there often is a lot of coverage on Duquesne sports on the DK Pittsburgh Sports site.  And you do not have to be a paid subscriber to read, though you do have to be a paid subscriber to comment.  Was just scrolling through the Duquesne page and it was sad that there was a conversation going on various aspects of MBB and WBB and there were no comments and no show of support on the part of fans.  That lack of interest is one reason (and not the only one) why we don't get coverage.

I mean, I also have trouble considering giving DK money.

Did he give any coverage to the Dukes before he hit all the controversy?

I dont use his site for any sports coverage.   Why would anyone pay someone to comment on their web site?

I read DK every day.  His coverage of the pro teams in Pittsburgh is unsurpassed. He’s also the city’s best sports writer, and, uh, a Duquesne graduate.  Go look at the Duquesne site today.

He sure is a Duquesne graduate, he’s stated it multiple times before slamming the school.

I’m glad it’s getting coverage there, he’s just not my cup of tea. I wouldn’t tell someone else that they should avoid it. It’s just me.

Plans for coverage of college basketball (and the Dukes) at DK Pittsburgh Sports for 24/25 season.

DK: HOW WE'LL COVER COLLEGE HOOPS
We've got two NCAA Division I basketball programs inside city limits, and we've now got a plan for how we'll cover both of them.

Greg Macafee will staff Pitt home games at the Petersen Events Center, as he did Tuesday night in the Panthers' exhibition opener against Point Park, and José Negron will staff Duquesne home games at the UPMC Cooper Field House. This keeps with our emphasis on having our full-time professionals handle our foundational assignments. Our readers know they can trust their work and that they'll do right by these beats.

Home games will get live files, obviously, since we're there covering. Road games will be in the schools' respective Feeds, including threads that'll allow readers to share their own views live. (As readers have asked in the past.)

Also and important: Both of these reporters obviously have primary beats that'll move one or the other to fill in for one or the other as needed.

Also and really important: Support this coverage. Partake in a live file. Comment on a game story. Nothing makes a bigger difference toward demonstrating vibrancy ... as opposed to what this coverage usually draws.

Also and really, really important: If either of these teams does what Duquesne just did, we're more than open to adjusting the coverage.
