NIL Beers

University themed beers have become a popular way for college football and basketball teams to fund their NIL programs. Alcoholic NIL partnerships started with bigger schools in early 2023 and by this point have trickled their way into the A10. George Washington has "Dribbling' George's Lager", La Salle has "Explorer Ale",  Dayton "Fly Light Lager" and Rhode Island flaunts the highest ABV NIL beer in the nation, 7% "Rhody Ram IPA" as well as the "Rhody Ruckus Lager."

This leads to my question, should Duquesne look into this? Duquesne Pilsener has a ton of history and of course shares the name of the University. I know they did the reboot and Duquesne Pilsener was being sold again, but I haven't seen as much of it lately as I did around four years ago. I think if some sort of partnership could be formed to benefit the players, it would be awesome for folks to be able to "Have a Duke."

I know I tried to buy Duquesne at the beginning of the first full post-Covid season and couldn’t find it anywhere. It would have been great to be able to order a Duke during our stretch run last year. Anyone else in Omaha get the Duquesne Jell-O shots?

How would that work ? Sell it at the games ? Do we get money for selling the current brands of beer at the games now?

Sell it at games, sell it in distributors across the region and distribute the profits throughout athletics programs.

At this moment I am not sure what the dynamic for beer sales is at the games, whether parkhurst dining or whoever keeps a majority or how that profit is split with the university. Either way its not going to the players.

I just think having a Duquesne themed beer would be a nice gimmick as a way for fans to directly support the players. Other universities obviously like the idea, even religious institutions. Also, does anybody know what happened to Duquesne Pilsener? I would love to purchase if I could find it still.
