Really bad 3rd quarter. Horrible close outs on multiple threes. The defender is there, but gives the shooter multiple feet of space.

OMG this is a freaking joke.

Longwood is putting on an offensive clinic on how to use the paint...and what do we do?  We shoot 3's

Great comeback win by Coach Burt and the DU women.  Go Dukes.

Agree with Rachel - this was an amazing comeback and this is all due to the players stepping up.  The team won in spite of the poor coaching by Burt.  The entire 3rd quarter we basically passed the ball around the perimter and chucked 3's.

What changed was letting Kiaku be Kiaku!  I have been screaming constantly about two points, posting up Kiandre Brown and getting Jerni Kiaku more playing time and let her attack the paint.  While we didn't post up Brown in the 4th, the ball moved much better with Kiaku taking control of the offense as Longwood had to move on defense creating open looks, like the wide open 3 from Blackford off the assist from Kiaku.

Watching Kiaku dominate the 4th quarter, you have to ask yourself, why was she on the bench at the end of the game against Richmond??

Make no mistake, this game shouldn't have been close, even without Hutcherson.  You put Brown on the block and this game is not a contest.  Even Rachel commented about us ignoring the paint as we were trying to make a comeback.

I think that finish might make the ESPN top play

One more point, this was an incredible effort by Meg.  She played a great defensive game and with her and Kiaku attacking on the defensive end, like they did in the 4th quarter, we have the type of defense that would have run Richmond out of the gym.

Makes you wonder if Kiaku was on the floor as much of she should have been all year where we would have finished up in the league...I'm guessing higher than 9th place.

I hope this is a sarcastic post and not something you actually think on the first day of the NCAA Men's Tournament.

That is a great thing, especially for Jerni to get that kind of recognition.  Congrats to Jerni for making the shot and getting recognized

Al was right on the money this time.

I will be anxious to see if Burt learns anything from last night and applies it to the game at Miami.  Longwood ran an offensive clinic on using the paint with ball movement that had us out of position to defend, allowing them to take control and a big lead.

Burt needs to watch the third quarter over and over because we still ignored the paint in the 4th quarter.  Jerni Kiaku jump started that comeback with her speed leaking out for a couple of fast breaks to get us going early in the 4th quarter.

This team has much better talent but the problem is Burt.  He doesn't use the offensive gifts he has on his own team.  Kiandre Brown should never leave the block, unless to set a screen at the top of the key, she must roll to the basket and stay there.  This is crucial as she needs to be near the basket to rebound the ball.  Offensive rebounds, especially in post-season play can make or break a team.  If Gabby Hutcherson is not able to play, we will be challenged on the boards.
