Re: Lewis Djonkam has committed to Duquesne

Corey Evans ‏ Duquesne picks up its second frontcourt commit within past 16 hours. Djonkam-Walker pairing brings varying skillsets + mismatch qualities

Good to get a pure big in the mix. I don't believe that he is as highly thought of as the other three recruits, but 6'9" 220 is hard to teach. Hopefully he can develop into a solid rebounder and shot blocker

Re: Lewis Djonkam has committed to Duquesne

We needed a wide body.

Admittedly, I know nothing about prep recruits, but on paper this class looks good.

I also like the fact that he has a full year at Hargrave Military to further polish up his game.  Although he looks pretty raw at this point, he may be further along than Darius Lewis was after his junior year in high school (and after a year at IMG, then a couple at Duquesne, he's developed into a good A-10 center).  Just hope that Lewis has another 2-3" inch growth spurt in him; big difference between 6-8 and 6-11.  Best of luck to Lewis.

I agree Phoenix. I like what I see from this kid on the video.  At 6'9" 240 lbs he looks very mobile for a man his size, with good hands and handle.   He can also step out and hit the three, not that we want to see much of that.

What I like most is that we won't be digging in the trash next spring, looking for late signees.

To piggy back on this, our percentage of guys that visited and then committed this year is really impressive. Doing something right.

Same thing happened last year too. I'm pretty sure Lewis and littleson both committed right after visiting. I guess that means the bluff still has that instant charm
