Every coach has strengths and weaknesses. Schmidt does a great job recruiting, especially with the smallest “stadium” in the nation and is strong in pregame preparation. He’s a good “teacher” of the game with player development but is slow making in-game adjustments of player personnel, clock management, play calling and pacing. In short, he’s stubborn with his game planning and player selection when they need to adapt.

You are dead on.  His style of coaching is antiquated and Duquesne really should move on from him if they want to be a serious contender.  Problem is...he has 100+ wins, he's local, homegrown yinzer and athletics really shot their wad ($$) to bring in Dambrot.   Sad thing is, Duquesne could be known as a Football school if they were willing to spend some of the basketball money.  God knows they haven't been taken seriously on the Basketball side.
