I've decided to just sit back and let it play out through next year. That is all we can really do. If this program doesn't take a big step forward next year, it's not going to happen under this regime. I'm patient, but most of us are getting long in the tooth, and would like to see it happen before we're dead. The last time Duquesne had a really good team, I was a kid, and I haven't been a kid in a looooong time.

The last time Duquesne had a really good team, I was in diapers. And I'm quickly heading back toward wearing them again. Perhaps that's what it takes.

You're a better man than I, duq81. I'm having a very hard time just letting this play out, because I am pretty well convinced that the outcome will not be good. My sole reason for my belief is that Ferry has not shown us ONE single piece of evidence that he can coach defense at an average A-10 level. And only "average" is what I believe it will take to get the Dukes rolling toward the top of the A-10. I think this team has good offensive talent, with more on the way with another year of experience and Castro/Jacksons/Sanders coming in. And I do like what Ferry has coached offensively, especially when he has been limited most nights on what he is getting from the 3 and 5 positions. Not to mention the lack of transition offense due to the poor defense.

The problem is on defense and I don't think Ferry has any answers.
