Re: Gulf Coast Classic November 2015

Decent field of opponents.  Since it appears the first round losers stay home I do not see too many DU fans booking flights and tickets in advance.

Re: Gulf Coast Classic November 2015

Drake is the team that gave us our first loss during Ron's second year. Would have been nice to be in a tourney with a few big names, but those are better teams than what we've been playing.

It is geared for mid major teams, except the women's bracket.

I'm almost certain Duquesne will be in Ft Myers for three guaranteed games as the "Campus Sites" for this past year's event are games between the "Showcase teams" and non D-1 teams.

It doesn't matter if they lose or even play a first round game.  There were only 5 first round games last year which were all against non D-1 schools.  Winning that game means absolutely nothing to arriving in Fort Myers.

The first round matchups were announced on 9/16/14 last year.  You can book your trip early.  Duquesne will be there.

It appears all games are streamed live on AtlanticSunTV

Re: Gulf Coast Classic November 2015

This is 3rd year, tickets were around $45 for all games, not well attended yet.
If FGCU is in it there will be more attendance , they average about 4,500 per game at their Alico Arena, a sell out.

The Germaine Arena is where this is hosted and it hold about 6,000 for basket ball events.

This is about 3 miles from the Gulf Beaches (Bonita Beach) and temps are in mid 80's that time of year.

I will be there, have contacted Ray Goss already for a lunch, we are long time friends.

This is the most comprehensive scouting report I've ever seen on this site. I hope this turns into the greatest weekend of Duquesne basketball you've ever experienced.

My last game was at Palumbo in 2008 when Ajax missed the last second trey against Rhode Island in their NIT year, I have seen many games over the years at home or on road trips but since my move to Fl never had the opportunity and have been unable due to health to fly back to visit and catch a game in  person.

Hey maybe I will see a win, even.
