First of all, let me preface this by saying that I believe John Rhodes might be the best assistant we have. The progress of Lewis is obviou. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family as he battles cancer. Dear lord does Cancer suck. Simms, I understand your concern, but I would not change anything. John Rhodes needs his family right now, including his basketball family, and he needs to know that his job is waiting for him. Chemo makes for some miserable days, where all you want is for your life to be normal again. I hope we see him on the sidelines again this season. After some brief reflection, you're right. Assistant Coach
However, if John is focused on winning his fight, shouldn't we be looking for an assistant coach to at least fill in for John while he is out? I would hope that John could stay on in some capacity to keep his insurance and to have a standard of living, but without him, I could see our team losing a valuable teacher.
