    Coach Burt receives contract extension

    I believe that Coach Dan received a 5-year contact when he became the Dukes' head coach two years ago.  Although not stated in the announcement, I've heard that it is a two-year extension which should lock him in as the Dukes' head coach through the 2019-2020 season.  Congratulations, Coach!

    The team's goal is to win the A-10 and to be invited to the NCAA post-season tournament.  I believe the Dukes have the head coach who can deliver on those goals.

    I stand corrected on the term of Coach Burt's original contract.  It was four years and not five as I had written.  With the two year extension he is under contract as the Dukes' women's team head coach through the 2018-2019 season.

    This is great, as I said in another post. Burt is a true find. Great coach, seems like a quality guy.
