Love the 1970s throwback unis. One nit to pick: 6-20 from 3 is 30%. Mason had a phenomenal percentage his first year but tailed off last year. Colter has improved. But overall? This is a team that shoots 30% at that range on a good night.

Lewis has improved his frame tremendously. He may have a shot at the NBA if he keeps progressing.

Re: DKPittsburghSports article from Seton Hill game

ElDuque, I posted the stat in the article because the Dukes shot 37% as a team for the season (69th in NCAA) last year.  This was a bit colder than usual and would have ranked them 328th out of 351 based on last year's percentages. That stood out to me and I felt the readers might want to know that.

I also think as the season heats up so will that percentage and that's usually how the Dukes do a lot of their scoring.

I also think that's the main reason why the Dukes didn't quite top 100 points last night as I'm sure some people expected.

I was very excited to see Darius Lewis play well last night and especially when he didn't take early fouls. He played with control.  Nakye Sanders showed good rebounding prowess as well and unlike the scrimmage, he too stayed out of foul trouble.

Plus, I'm just a PA announcer helping fill in on the writing side, so I was bound to screw it up ;-)

Mason gets no help from the coaches in running designed plays with effective screens.  Every thing he gets in three point production is freelance.  Sad when you have a kid with his talent.

You hit the nail on the head CLK! He went long stretches without an open look. Nothing designed to pop him free. No kick-outs from the centers. Once Lewis and Robinson got the ball in their hands they tunnel-visioned right to the basket.
