Offline No specifics. Generalities. Doesn't address when we can expect to win. Offline just support Athletics and they will win. If theres no support, just drop athletics. Charlie should just step down now, he's lucky that Libertine comment didn't go further than it did. Saw him at one game last year and that was Bonnies, he clearly didn't learn much at his time at Bonnies because they certainly know how to run a basketball program. Hoping Gormley can turn things around! Offline No specifics. Generalities. Doesn't address when we can expect to win. Funding at the proper level is the number one thing the administration can do. I have no problem with what he said. The best thing that can happen is for the current team to get over the hump. Ferry has to do it. There is nothing they can do at this point to make the team win now. They can do things that may help down the road, but if they don't win now, Ferry will be on the hot seat, and will be coaching for his job next year. Winning now will solve some of the problems, as it's easier to get folks to spend money when they see positive results. Offline I don't have a problem with Gormley's remarks. I don't expect him to have the basketball expertise to evaluate the roster & the recruits & put a specific date on when we can expect to win. He said he understands the fans' frustration & that a winning basketball team can be important to the university, & that's good enough for me, for now. He gave no indication when he'd try to do all of the things he mentioned. I've heard this before. It's alot of hot air to me. I do not believe Gormley has any idea what to do. The good news is that he does recognize that DU needs to spend money to be successful, the rub for most long suffering fans is we have head this all before from the DU Administration who translated commitment (spending money) to a coat of paint and some seats. I am hopeful that the tandem of Gormley and Harper "get it" and there will be a real change. Offline I don't have a problem with Gormley's remarks. I get that the question centered around a time frame. I also get that Yogi Berra once told a radio interviewer, "If you ask me something I don't know, I'm gonna say I don't know." A couple weeks ago Gormley was Dean of the law school. Studying the basketball program wasn't in that job description. I feel like asking him at this point in his tenure when the team can win is like asking Ferry how the law students can improve their scores on the Bar Exam. I'm sure he'll make his evaluations in due time---altho' he did sorta address the time frame by calling increased funding an "immediate priority." Hey, I'm as dissatisfied with the men's basketball program as anybody else here (in fact, I've pretty much lost all interest), & for all I know, you could be right---it could very well be a bunch of hot air & maybe Gormley has no idea what to do. I just think it's too early to say that. Offline You are 100% right Officer Dribble. You and God Bless his soul, Yogi Berra. Ken Gormley can't do squat, even if he wanted to, until July 1, 2016, when he is officially the new President. After all that has happened over the seemingly last millenium, I can be patient til then for his plan and course of action to unfold. I do know this. Having been in his company for an extended time period, Harper will press issues with him. Having been in his company for an extended time period, Harper will press issues with him. This is good to know. I really hope so.
