This is a struggling new tournament so crowds may be small, also that it is am/pm venue may keep attendance low in early games. I will be there but hope you can see it since this is the best card of teams since this began about three years ago.

Colter, Mason, Jones, Gill 5-21 combined through nearly 16 minutes. Some of Colter's shots haven't been close.

Pathetic start. 8 turnovers already

Jones only guy playing well.

Sanders & Robinson pick up 3 first half fouls each; Lewis & Robinson 2 each.

We're a solid 0-13 from 3

Colter, Mason, Gill: 3-21, 0-11 from 3, two assists. 54% of team's total minutes in the first half. Most of Colter's shots were off by a mile. Mason missed an uncontested layup.

Jones is having a so-so game, but by comparison he looks great.

 

Cold building from AC.  No crowd at all.  Pepperdine has talent and was favored.  Dukes have no motivation about Pepperdine as they did with PSU.

Where is that senior leadership now?

Assuming Dukes lose, JF will utter the usual banalities about tired from PSU; inexplicable cold shooting; no crowd energy; Pepperdine is a good team.  Can't dwell on game.  Have to move on to Wisc Mil.

JF will extol the virtues of Wisc Mil.  This tournament is tougher than it appears. Some very good teams. Have to regroup.

Dukes could go 0-3.

Did JF think to start some bench players(Steel and Sanders) to surprise or confuse Pepperdine with say Mason or Colter off the bench?  Use the press? Get a technical to stir up the team?  Anything at all to energize the Dukes effort?

Hopefully, Harper can fund raise enough to buy out JF and hire a real coach.

Dude,  it's one game.  Calm down.  

I have never seen Mason have this type of game.  He is 1-11 from behind the arc.
