Re: UMBC Preview

Rick have any line on this game?  I think the players are chomping at the bits to get back out and play after the Pitt loss.  I think we win by 20.

CLK, I don't expect that a line will be posted for this game.  I haven't seen a line for a UMBC game all year. Pomeroy has this game as an 83-67 victory for the Dukes (#138) over UMBC (#326); with a 92% win probability.  UMBC is a very young team that doesn't play defense very well; offensively, they struggle to make shots. If the Dukes come out with a defensive focus like they did vs. New Orleans or Mississippi Valley State, this should be 20+ point win.

Thanks Phoenix.  I did not realize UMBC was rated that low by Pomeroy.

Re: UMBC Preview

They shot the ball pretty well against Longwood. Let's hope they got it out of their system.

Re: UMBC Preview

Dukes rolling in the 1st half.  Jones making a statement that HE is the starter and the young guy will have to wait.  Love internal competition.

Re: UMBC Preview

What's with the individual stat?. In particular, Gill has to have 15 boards by now, being credited with 10. (??)

Re: UMBC Preview

Really nice game by gill. Not only shooting but also on the boards. He is our best rebounder

Re: UMBC Preview

7-2 now. This is actually our best start since BB Flenory's senior year, when we were 7-0, 9-1, 10-2, and 12-3, before stumbling down the stretch as usual. That really tells you how much we've struggled over the last 35 years.

Re: UMBC Preview

The lead dropped fro 28 to 11 as the Dukes defense disappeared, and Micah and Colter's three point shooting went dry .  Last year we might of lost, but the Dukes got back on track behind Gill and Jones who both stepped up. The Dukes need to tighten up their defense if they are going to beat the Frankies on Saturday.  Too many easy layups and open treys.

It was not 28, it was 22

Re: UMBC Preview

Maybe a little like DC, a 2 playing the one at times?

Glad we got him....
