Offline O/U also set at 168. Should be a very exciting game for those in attendance. Offline Pomeroy has this as an 87-83 victory for the Dukes, giving the Dukes a 63% chance of a victory. Offline Pomeroy has this as an 87-83 victory for the Dukes, giving the Dukes a 63% chance of a victory. Not questioning your ticket analysis, just curious how you know? Offline Web, saw this last evening: Offline Man, we just do not match up well against Davidson at all. They are our kryptonite Offline Ugly first half. Offline Refs better even up the foul calls in the second half, because at this point it's crazy. Offline Refs better even up the foul calls in the second half, because at this point it's crazy. It was absolutely embarrassing how bad the officiating was in the 1st half. Offline I am the LAST GUY to ever say stuff like this but Offline I am the LAST GUY to ever say stuff like this but Frustrating game. We could have done things better but the refs really sabotaged the game in the first half. We just couldn't recover Offline Refs were horrible but they weren't why we lost. When we fell behind we got out of our offense & started chucking up wild shots early in the possession. We gave up too many offensive rebounds & were outworked under the glass. Offline The Dukes were taken out of the game with the quick fouls, however the quick three's as soon as the first player crossed the mid court by the Dukes took them out of any rythym since they were usually missed. Dukes were up on rebounds 14-7, then the bottom fell out. Dukes held Davidson to 42% from the field only because they ( Davidson) got so many offensive rebounds (20) and out rebounded our guys 52-40. Offline I am the LAST GUY to ever say stuff like this but Frustrating game. We could have done things better but the refs really sabotaged the game in the first half. We just couldn't recover Offline I am the LAST GUY to ever say stuff like this but Frustrating game. We could have done things better but the refs really sabotaged the game in the first half. We just couldn't recover I hope the Ref's Checks from this game BOUNCE!!!!! Offline With Lewis in the second half, Dukes outscored Davidson, with him on the bench in the first half, game out of reach. Same thing happened at GW, with him in, Dukes were winning, when he's out of that game, it slipped away. Ferry needs him in there, fouls and all, till he fouls out, period. Leave him in there and then he will learn to play without fouling. And really,,, If, the refs called this game even, then, its a win for the Dukes, there definitely was a plan coming in here to favor Davidson. Even the announcers were astounded at the no-calls at times for Davidson? One more observation, Derrick needs to drive early in the game to get the opponents in foul trouble, he's good at it, and we are taller in the paint against nearly everyone for the rebounds, and or take the back-door dish when he has no place to go in the drive. Also, Micah needs to quit shooting fast forced 3's when no one is there to rebound, it's just like a turnover. It helps the opponent. He can score, but almost never on those fast 3's. Quit doing that and set up the play, then we have a chance on the rebound. It just helps the other team. But, the seasons not over, this Dukes team are mostly underclassmen with good upside as they improve. They need to just forget about this one, this is still a good season. Go Dukes ! Offline Lewis needs to start blocking shots and stop standing around with his arms up. He either gets called for a foul anyway or a 6'5 guy scores over him. Offline We just got beat by a better team. We now go play Dayton which is better than Davidson. You need to let this one go. I thought we had a chance to win going in but I believe that their higher RPI based on a tougher OOC schedule they play also has them more seasoned. On a side note I thought at times Lewis didn't hustle after some balls which he has in the past. Again, time to move on. Last edited by FAM (2/06/2016 3:48 pm) Offline The effort wasn't good today. They got beat on almost all 50-50 hustle plays . Offline A painful loss today. I had 2 grade school kids with me for their first college basketball game and although we all had a good time a win would have made it much better. Offline Legitimate, sobering and reasoned posts, folks!!!! Jack Gibbs, without question, is the best offensive and MAYBE best defensive player in the A-10. Offline A painful loss today. I had 2 grade school kids with me for their first college basketball game and although we all had a good time a win would have made it much better. Well put re that good teams overcome. Micah said: "game was well officiated.....no excuses....they just out toughened us." Very nice overall post. Offline Why is it surprising that the Dukes were in foul trouble? Although we haven't had a lot of guys foul out of games I have continuously posted at the volume of fouls we committ every game. I'm not sure of the exact numbers are but I'm sure our opponents committ fewer fouls. Another double digit turnover game, when does it stop? When is some serious emphasis put on possessions? Finally guys lets face it we were out rebounded by a smaller team 52-40. That is atrocious it easily tells you WHO wanted the game more. Most of you questioned comments made about our size I think now you know what we meant. Time and again even the announcers commented on the Dukes firing 3's and not running any offense. And finally a total defensive collapse to give up 93. Last edited by The Dome (2/06/2016 7:24 pm) Offline The first half officiating was truly way off base. Doubtful they'll get into NIT with 18 wins. Last edited by rittersdiner (2/07/2016 10:10 am)
Duquesne favored by 3 over Davidson
Re: Duquesne favored by 3 over Davidson
Less than 1,000 tickets remain, so this should be a great atmosphere at AJP tomorrow.

"Gee I guess there must have been a World Wrestling event in town and the officiating crews got mixed up with the A-10 crew!
This crew is atrocious!
I hope they at least bought Duquesne a nice dinner before doing what they are doing to them, which I believe used to be illegal in 37 states!
Unbelievable!

James held scoreless but Jackson had 13 but had to leave with leg cramps, at times this healter skelter offense made me cringe. Saw Mason firing up shots with out setting his feet under him, and missing, often.
Also I thought Dukes were out quicked and out Coached, having his dad " Big Jim" in the stands didn't help FERRY.
I DVRed it but won't keep it😟

It was great when they got it down to 8 and the crowd got into it, but then too many unforced errors, poor shot selection, bad decisions etc. and it slipped away

Re: Duquesne favored by 3 over Davidson
It was a good, closely contested game until that stretch in the first have where a long series of questionable calls and non-calls all went in Davidson's favor. That set us back on our heels and a quality Davidson team took advantage got a win on the road. The suddenness with which multiple Dukes were hit with 2 first half fouls was astounding. The momentum was taken away and they began playing tentatively. Teams that are good enough to earn at large bids are good enough to overcome such obstacles against quality teams on their home floor. We showed again today that we're not an NCAA tournament level team and probably not an NIT level team either. But the NIT situation can still be changed and an upset in Dayton on Wednesday would be a big step in that direction.

I can't fault the Dukes for their effort. My first time being there live in a few years, and it looked like the players worked hard. Cannot agree with the comment that the Dukes didn't seem to go hard.
Davidson looked better than what their record indicates. They are a tough bunch of hustling players, and they have a number of guys who can shoot. And they had a good game. EOS.
Re: Duquesne favored by 3 over Davidson
Points in the paint 35-24
Last and worst 2nd chance points 21-11.
Dukes were out hustled and they were not ready to play big game basketball.
