What a sad sad end to what looked like a potential turning point season in this program. Every time I look back and think about all the close losses and games we blew and gave away it always comes back to three common themes for me: poor execution and turnovers, no defense on the 3 pt. shot, poor shot selection. These all come back to things that should be addressed by the coaches for me and what the hell did they do about it. Last nights game was idiotic in terms of defensive game planning. Literally one freakin guy on their team is scoring all their points, like literally for 5 minute stretches the only guy on their team taking shots, no double team like every other team does to Mason, no box and one, no press when the lead is double digits with less than 4 minutes in the game. What does he do besides make excuses? This guy is just a joke. That team got worse over the course of the season. We were so much more balanced on offense early on with guys like James and Gill looking confident with the ball and doing things in the offense. At some point we reverted back into this team that literally relied on 2 guys under 6'3" to score every point and take every shot. Everybody else looked scared to even put the ball and the floor and dribble once or twice. Every guy on this team deferred to the senior guards and literally there role was to either screen for or pass to two f-ing guys it was so predictable. The fact that offensively we digressed throughout the season is a testament to how bad the coaching was. Rather than get better throughout the season we got worse and worse until we completely folded against the worst team in the conference. These kids never let down in terms of effort but they need and deserve someone who can improve and develop each one of them rather then making them pawns in his YMCA offense where you run no set plays and just give the ball to your two best shooters. I'm embarrassed at this juncture. WOW, all you guys are on point!!! EARTH TO HARPER, EARTH TO HARPER, ARE YOU HOME, ARE YOU SEEING THIS!!! Harper, most people here have watched college bball for decades, we have a reasonable understanding of the game and this is a TRAIN WRECK!!! Contrary of Coach Ferry, this program is a puke storm. Lack of quality players, completely predictable and easily defended strategy (the opposition to what we do), complete lack of coaching adjustments ever and all we get from the staff is excuses!!! I mean a blind squirrel could see this. In year 4 of the Ferry regime still NO PG and we've seen the results of that!! A big man with the same nickname as Roberto Duran, a power forward who stays outside too much and shoots the 3 at what 30%?? A coach who either let's these players make these same mistakes over and over and doesn't do anything about it or doesn't know how to! Oh, I forgot, we don't have the players, sorry Coach, you recruited them all!!!! What a crock, look at what the guy at Fordham did this year. KenOTR, I'm with you, I feel bad for Mason. He was a legit 2nd team all A-10. Where is the TJ, Bolding, Saunders type of talent. Talent you could see immediately (especially with TJ) or certainly by their sophomore season. Oh hold on, you'll see when we have seniors and juniors who have played in our system and understand what it takes!!! Oooops, sorry, forgot we started 2 seniors and 2 juniors. Ahhh, but we lost the second coming of Kobe Bryant (J.Jones)..............PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE..........EXCUSES, EXCUSES, EXCUSES. Someone put this dog of a program out of its misery and buy this Coach a ticket back to NY!!!! LaSalle is the worst team anyhow..by a gigantic margin. Not even close. By a margin of of 15?
