UConn waiting if we win and UConn can handle Bobby Mo.

Re: Women get a 9 seed

And typical, Duquesne can't win for losing, as the ladies make their first ever NCAA appearance, but NO they don't get a live crowd shot, like every other first timer on this show, as ESPN has to kneel down and fellate Gino Ariemma for ten minutes, so we don't have any time to show our team's reaction!

God this program is cursed!

Re: Women get a 9 seed

It gets worse.  Meyer, Dukes beat reporter, tweets about RMU and has a video of their celebration.  RMU is a 16 seed from a lesser conference. They beat Sacred Heart, we had to beat GWU, a top 25 team.  Meyer should be RMU's beat reporter.  Total lack of respect for the Dukes.

Re: Women get a 9 seed

I called it that we'd see UConn if we won our first game. I have no problem with it. We'll get more attention losing to UConn by 40 than we would losing to some lesser P5 team by 15.

We all know that UConn is loaded.  The amount of time CBS spent on UConn was outright boring.

The initial reaction of the Dukes' team & coaches team was not aired live.  On several occasions after the lights of the TV cameras in the Rivertowne Hall of fame Club came on after the Dukes' seed and opponent was revealed, the team and fans exhibited cheering and celebration for what they were led to believe would be a live video shot.  This reoccured about five times.  Very disappointing that the Dukes were not shown live on the air, but kicking Seton Hall's _ ss on Saturday will make up for CBS's blunder.

Re: Women get a 9 seed

By the middle of the third bracket it was obvious what would happen - St Bonnie was a 10 seed in the first bracket - with GW being a 7 seed in the third bracket -  we were not going to be in that one -  and figured our seeding would be between 7 and 10 so it doesn't really matter whether you were the 8 or 9 -  for 27 wins in a solid conference - TEAM DESERVES BETTER!! Hopefully they DO Knock Seton Hall off.

On the BRIGHT side they had Season Ticket Applications on the Tables - You can purchase SEASON TICKETS (13-15 GAMES TOTAL) FOR TWENTY DOLLARS and SIXTY CENTS TOTAL -  THAT IS NOT A TYPO!! Plus the 5.00 handling charge.  Also gets an Invitation to Five "Chalk Talk Events"  (and weren't the guys single games 22-17-12) So season for the ladies vs one for the guys???

Event was VERY well attended!!!

Re: Women get a 9 seed

Why not just be happy they got in and look forward to the game, if the men got in I wouldn't care if they showed the original logo from the NIT Champs team or a picture of Don Gambridge's Afro hairdo of the last NCAA team........

Re: Women get a 9 seed

I'm not worried about the second round opponent.   They have a good matchup with Seton Hall.  Seton Hall was last 8th seed we are first 9th seed on the S curve.  They can win this game.  And that is the most important thing.

Re: Women get a 9 seed

I'm probably in the minority but I find seeding to be vastly overrated.  Sure, a higher seed shows that the team has the respect of the basketball world & helps 'em get further into the tournament.  But the goal should be to win the championship---however unlikely that is for any team not named UConn---& to do that, you gotta play the great teams at some point in the tournament.  Doesn't matter to me whether we play 'em early or later.  I'm looking forward to us winning vs. Seton Hall & seeing what we can do with UConn.

Re: Women get a 9 seed

I think there was supposed to be a live shot but they were having an issue with the signal not working for it. Not sure how accurate that was, just something I overheard from a few people at the event.

What an awesome event to be a part of tonight!

Re: Women get a 9 seed

Literally sat through an hour of coverage (we were the last region to be shown) about women's bball teams I literally have never nor will I ever see play because I noticed they were going to live shots of the teams and wanted to see what espn had to say analysis-wise about the team. Not only did they not have a live shot but they just completely raced through that part of the bracket to get back to slobbering all over UCONN like someone else mentioned. It was really a shame they did show all the other teams announcement shots like someone else also mentioned. Like Central Arkansas got a live shot as a school who probably plays in a one bid league that if we got a team together of us posters could probably finish in the top half of that league right now!!!! Not really into women's basketball but I'll be watching and cheering on the Lady Dukes in the tourney!

We just always seem to get screwed. No live shot, no analysis, UCONN in the second round.
I heard on 93.7 theFan this morning there were OVER 500 people in attendance last night! that is just awesome and I think a true sign of the fact that a winner will be supported, especially if it was the guys.

Ah Duquesne, if it weren't for bad luck....we'd have no luck at all.
