Jimmy Patsos

Was once coach Gary Williams right hand man for MD Terrapins and was known for his recruiting prowess.  Some time after the Terps cut down the nets in the NCAA tourney he was offered and left for Loyola University just up the road. Now Loyola of Baltimore, one of the oldest Jesuits in US and best known for their Lacrosse programs and Tom Clancy, had a mbb program that was downright moribund yet Jimmy seemed to immediately breathe life into and resuscitated this corpse of a program, eventually winning the MAAC and an NCAA bid.  Forward to Ron's dismissal at DU - we followed Loyola's Jimmy Patsos. Interestingly, within the first weeks of GA's search to replace Ron, there was a blip in the paper stating Patsos was not interested in the Duquesne job. This seemed odd and have no proof, but you had to believe Patsos was contacted by DU then and perhaps withdrew when he learned he was not the top candidate.  So, why is this relavant?  Yesterday there was a sports blip in the Baltimore paper that Jimmy Patsos received a 2-year contract extension at Siena after his second 20 win season in 3 years there including a win over the Bonnies.

Re: Jimmy Patsos

Hey, can you blame him? Who wants to sink their career by coming here? He'd have been a better candidate than Keith Dambrot, who had already failed the first time he left Akron.
