Several years ago I had the pleasure to speak to Duquesne's starting point guard on that National Champion Team, he lives in nearby Bonita Springs, Fl.

Mickey, a well spoken retired NYC prosecutor, was charming and informative. I later learned he was a Two Time All -America Honerable Mention guard. He said the team was small with only Ricketts at 6-7 a true big player, but fast and really good.

I would love to buy a copy of any book with that Championship Team as the topic, please post the info when available, and thanks for the update.

Back in the day there were very good Jewish roundballers coming out of NY and Mickey was one of them.

The Dukes were one of the few big time basketball schools to heavily recruit black players and NYC was a hot bed, also the East Coast was full of great Jewish athletes.

I wish I was a little older to have followed it , since I was only 6 years old at the time.

Will this be sold at bookstores at all?  I'm thinking the Barnes & Nobel near Duquesne's campus, where I can walk from work & have an unused gift card.

Just rec'd book and read it today.

The presentation of the story, 1955 Championship is unique, a game by game coverage with box scores and also reporters comments included is cool.

I learned that Dick Ricketts was the best ever to play at Duquesne, period. Wow, he overwhelmed everyone.

If you like the Dukes, buy this and even an old timer that started in 1961 ( Dukes reached #3 ) learned a lot.
