He would be the 5th Duke to score 32 or more points in a summer league game this year.

Re: ProAm semifinals

Castro had 31 and Blackman had 27. So 2morro it's Abrahamson and Castro against Blackman and Taylor.

Re: ProAm semifinals

The Dukes players got some praise over on the Pitt board.

Re: ProAm semifinals

Which Pitt board exactly? I would like to see the praise but every time I try to go on their forum it prompts me to login in to a subscription service and I can never seen to access the board over there.

Re: ProAm semifinals

Isiaha Mike should legitimately compete for A10 rookie of the year. Who are some of the other top freshman coming into the conference next year???

Re: ProAm semifinals

Thanks to all those who kept us informed.  Looks like the DU players had a productive summer league.  Here is hoping that it builds confidence and carries over to November.

This is the main Pitt board. The guy DT Pitt does a good job covering the games, and has never had a problem pointing out when a Duke plays a strong game. It's always good to hear positive things from an outsider.

I feel a bit of optimism but we have gone through this before. If nothing else, we now know that we have quite a few players on this roster that have legitimate talent. Now it's up to ferry and his staff to put these guys in the position to win some games.

Re: ProAm semifinals

Yes, I don't want to put to much into these games but it for sure shows that we don't have a bunch of scrubs on our roster. So if this team goes 8-22 this season....how can the ownership of blame not be placed on Jim's head?

Re: ProAm semifinals

Lineup of Smith and Blackmon (Steel and Lewis II and Castro behind) Abrhamson/Mike/James (Marqwell Jackson behind) Sanders/Robinson and Lewis is really giving me some optimism for next year.

I too think this OOC schedule is much better than it has been the last two or three years as well though, it will definitely be an interesting season that will most likely mark some significant change for this program, whether it be in a good way (more wins, winning record, better post season tourney, better A10 finish) or a bad way (Ferry fired, more of the same or worse regarding results, multiple transfers) is what remains to be seen, and what keeps me comin' back!

Re: ProAm semifinals

Cam Johnson's been named the co-MVP of the PBC Pro-Am, along w/ Duquesne's Rene Castro. Mike Young & Sheldon Jeter made the all-league team.

Re: ProAm semifinals

Congrats to Rene. Saw him twice this year and he looks really good again in that setting. If he figures out how to continue that play for the Dukes he's going to be fun to watch. One other thing on Castro concerning his speed. He didn't look quick the times he's gotten into games for the Dukes. A couple of times at Montour he's grabbed rebounds and gone coast to coast showing no lack of quickness. I think he has it in him and might be a lack of confidence that's holding him back.
