Welcome to SHOO-SHOO, RAH-RAH! The Duquesne Dukes Basketball Fan Message Board!
One of America's Great Message Boards - Any Inappropriate Posts Will Be Deleted!
Sunday at 2. Duquesne WBB just tweeted a picture from the Charlotte airport. Orsi is in the picture carrying a back pack with a smile. I hope that is a sign to the fans she is playing. Offline I have heard from reliable sources that the team is battered after a very tough double overtime win over GW on Wednesday. I've been told that Orsi who was injured late in the first half of the GW game will be available in a limited role. All the players are to make the trip. Jocelyn still may not be back to 100%, but she will see action and hopefully perform as the stat stuffer with steals, rebounds, assists, & points that we have grown to expect. Charlotte
Go Dukes!
Re: Charlotte
Charlotte has a big front line including senior 6' 4" Amanda Dowe (10.5 pts/10.4 rbs. average) and senior 6' 3" Jennifer Haily (15.8 pts./11.5 rbs. average). Not surprising, Haily is 4th in A-10 scoring & tops in rebounding. Note that Charlotte averages 42.6 boards per game and has a rebounding margin of +8.7. The Dukes average 39.5 rbs. per game and a negative margin of 0.5. This will be one heck of a game for the Dukes. Jocelyn and Ahjah may have to switch into high gear in rebounding to help Wumi out. Maybe Stasia and Jose-Ann will step up and surprise us with some good rebounding as well. The Dukes have a big advantage in steals; however, turnovers and block shots are nearly even between the two teams.
You may have to go to ESPN 730 AM radio station's website, to be able to get free access to the radio broadcast. I searched Charlotte University's website and did not see any links to the radio station's broadcast. I believe that Charlotte probably has many of their women's games broadcast on-line (like Red Zone Media.com does). However, ESPN 730 AM radio coverage is something special for this game. The alumnae of the Charlotte b-ball team will be honored at half time. Given the importance of this game in the A-10's standings and the Dukes' position tied for #1, there's likely to be a larger than average turnout for this game. Charlotte ranks 2nd in home attendance in the A-10 with a 1,782 average.
Sagarin ranks the Dukes (17-3) at # 47 and the 49ers (15-4) at # 67 and makes the Dukes a 2-point favorite.
GO DUKES!
