Offline Has anyone even bothered to ask Harper just why in the hell he scheduled 4 games in the space of 8 days, including one every other night, culminating in a visit to a perennial power, currently ranked #2? Anyone? this just strikes me as sheer idiocy! Offline The earliest a game could be scheduled was November 11. So all teams started their season that day or perhaps the day after. Duke and Villanova have already played five games too. About half the teams have played four games. So it's really not uncommon to see scheduling like this at the beginning of the year. Anyone? this just strikes me as sheer idiocy! I'm pretty sure that the Canisius, Kentucky and UT-Martin games are all part of the same tournament which would likely explain why they are so close together. Offline Yeah, I get the four games fast is part of a tournament, but usually tourneys are held in the same place and don't have to deal with travel and other logistics Offline I don't see it as an issue. When the A-10 Tournament rolls around, a team that goes from the bottom to the championship game will play what, five straight days? Four at a minimum? Offline Last year at the Gulf Coast Classic in Estero, three games in three days, but it was a team full of 3 and 4 year starters plus Jrs starting and playing the most min.( we were 2-1) Offline If one compares the men's schedule to the women's schedules, one finds that they are playing roughly the same number of games over roughly the same time, & by December 6, the women will actually have played one more game. The difference is that Ferry won't shut up about how many games they've played in how little time & Burt won't breathe a single word about it. That tells me all I need to know about why one program is successful & one isn't.
One more question?
Do they play this many games during the regular season? No! Twice a week, maybe three in seven days, but 4 games in 8 days!
Way to go Dave!

Seriously, since when was being able to play a game against the best team in the country a bad thing?
I hate myself for loving you. Quoting me without the expressed written consent of the National Hockey League is prohibited.

This years team is young and full of newcomers , the vets are sitting, except our big guy who can score inside if set plays and low post offense is employed rather than dribble drives with him watching the guards penetrate most times.
