Oh, wait.

This has been the year of the impossible dream:

Cubs bury both the goat, and Fred Merkle

Re: Next up UT-Martin

While watching this game via Apple TV on a big screen and thinking how nice it was to hear Ray and The Jewell doing play by play pretty straight since the game was streamed to Tenn-Martin area fans.

I have been to or watched hundreds and hundreds of games over the years and can get a feel about what is happening, once we were up 16 and then up 9, I said out loud, " we are going to lose this game".

No adjustments were made and the kids looked lost, time outs were no where to be called and it all fell apart.

I don't know these coaches except Big John, but what the heck are they thinking?

Happy Thanksgiving y'all, hope our Stillers do better tonite.

.  Well, enjoy Thanksgiving guys, it has been a nice first two months, as is usual for DU. I'll be back when Ferry is fired and DU makes some meaningful commitment to Men's BBall - pony up.

Good Luck then.  I've made it clear. I am done when Ferry is fired. Not putting up with another five year plan! Got better things to do with my life now that I am over 50 and playing life's back nine.

Re: Next up UT-Martin

So glad that before the previous DU President went out he let Ferry talk him into extending his contract.
Happy Thanksgiving to all and to all a Good Night

Duque 81 - ...some of your miracles aren't good...I'll leave it at that.

As far as the AD - I had a conversation and some exchanged emails with him last year about the program - the coach - and about my future lack of support $$/tickets until a tournament bid or he is gone.  Nice guy, but he truly indicated he supported this coach.  I know he has to say that, and hopefully he doesn't believe it.  But he really isn't going to be able to say much more.  I look for the 300-500 attendance to begin creeping in soon.

Re: Next up UT-Martin

Attendance after 4 games is 989.  AD will have to crunch some numbers to determine if a Ferry contract buyout is cheaper than chronic low attendance and a fall off in donations.

He told me the same thing, in no uncertain terms, Ferry is his guy, and he believes in him.  He is 100% behind Ferry. Now that can change come February when the team has 5 wins and is getting blown out by double digits in every A 10 game, and as you said attendence can be counted in the 200s.  Who knows?

Re: Next up UT-Martin

Econ- good post - data is sooo important.  I am sure we are there already (Nee attendance numbers).  No white outs or red outs FOR DU basketball -we need blue outs - this way the folks who are there will blend in with the seats.   Kind of like Pitt should have Gold Outs at their football games since in comparison - no one wants to go to their games either but for different reasons...and they have a winning record this year!!!

I imagine you will see many tickets given away to local Catholic schools.  Here is what is extremely disconcerting:  We didn't even get into league play yet with the Atlantic 10.  These are OOC.  Someone posted how these lower tier schools can challenge us..or something like that.  Folks, wake up and smell the coffee.  WE ARE A LOWER TIER BASKETBALL SCHOOL.

250/game?

Hell, intramural hockey games used to draw that many.

No.  989 per game.  My mistake.

Not really talking about the good or bad of Trump, just the fact that what he did was a shocker. The Dukes winning would be an even bigger shock than the things mentioned.

Re: Next up UT-Martin

Today I give thanks the season is 6 games complete. My one wish would be that they lose 20 games. One can hope can't they?
