Former Dukes' Star Point Guard, April Robinson, Now Works for Pitt

Apparently Duquesne had no vacant positions available on the women's basketball staff for April so Suzie came to her rescue.  A few years ago Suzie also provided former Duke, Alex Gensler, a similar position after she returned to the states after playing one-year of professional b-ball in Europe. Counting Suzie, one-half of Pitt's women's basketball staff has ties to the Duquesne basketball team.

Current listing of women's basketball team's staff on Pitt's website:

April was the last of SMS's recruits, played one year under her, and they seemed to have a good relationship.  It should be a nice fit for both parties.  Best of luck to her, particularly if this does leapfrog her coaching career if she elects to go that route.

Good for April. Lands a job with an ACC school. Bright future ahead!

I'm quite surprised that April didn't continue her career in Europe. She certainly had the skill set to be a top player in a high level league.  Best of luck to her in her coaching career.

Don't know but doesn't grad assistant imply graduate school? Maybe pursuing a degree?

April, BTW, if she's allowed to practice with the players, will make them that much better. As sharp as she was on court I would think she has a lot to offer.

Make that five-ninths.  My wife the Pitt alum dragged me to tonight's Pitt game.  (Not to worry - I sit & silently root for the other team.)  There was a new coach on the Pitt bench who was awfully familiar to me.  I checked the program & it was Amadou Pape Koundoul, who served on Everhart's staff at DU.  Found that interesting.
