Offline Wouldn't it be ironic if we had a terrible season but 2 players on the All Rookie Team Offline If Mike and Lewis made the all rookie team, they would probably transfer Offline Mike was highly touted but Lewis II kinda caught me by surprise , he seems like a good penetrator and can provide some decent offensive, maybe a go to guy later on in his playing years. Offline If both players continue to work hard they will both be very good players in the A-10. Mike Lewis II really plays with so much confidence for a freshman, actually pretty amazing at times, he doesn't hesitate when he gets an open look, he goes up strong. He doesn't mind taking the big shot, and got to the hoop for huge baskets late in the Pitt game and went to the line and made three straight FF when he was fouled shooting a three. He muscled in a very impressive drive to the basket for a score against RMU that should have been the game winner, had we only been able to defend for the last 30-seconds. Lewis II played on a Nationally ranked HS team Chaminade Prep in St Louis with Jayson Tatum who is at Duke and was one of the top three players in the USA last year; so Lewis II wasn't looked upon to be a scorer; but for a period when Tatum was injured, Lewis II did score in greater numbers. I know its not popular to say this on this board, but you have to credit the coaches for seeing the talent in Lewis II and bringing him to Duquesne. Offline I wish we'd stop talking about these kids transferring. I'm sure there are enough weasel toolbag coaches trying to sink their dirty hooks into these kids already. Offline Yes,

to a better program.
Re: Mike Rookie of the Week Award
Smith disappoints with his wild drives and misses, and general lack of assists for a point guard.
Rene Castro is starting to look like what we were told he could be and with that stop and go dribble and ability to drive or pull up for the three he could cause defenses trouble.
The conference play begins soon and then we will know the true ability of all the fore mentioned.

Re: Mike Rookie of the Week Award
I. Mike came in with a bit more of a reputation based upon his career up north in Canada. He played well against not only Canadian but US high school stars. I think Mike is just starting to feel comfortable and take more of a lead role in the offense. He took the big shot to win the game against C. Ct State on Saturday; this should really give him confidence going forward. This team doesn't really have a "go to" guy in critical scoring situations at this point. Mike and Mike will be those guys going forward. It will be fun to watch these guys mature as players as the year progresses.
Re: Mike Rookie of the Week Award
I hope they're here four years.
Re: Mike Rookie of the Week Award
I don't get why this guys seems obsessed with this business of transferring. I wonder if these guys even consider the damage they can do by posting on this board irresponsibly. I thought we all wanted to see Duquesne win?
