Offline If the Smith-Lewis-Mike Show gets any help, we should finish a once-promising noncon schedule one game over .500. Imagine if these guys would have had any coaching, they could have won 3-4 more games and been riding high heading into the A10. Offline Wonder if it will be "a close brush" with Colgate?? To the team and staff's credit - A LOT of them were at the game last night Cheering the Ladies on - At the other games I've seen maybe one or two of them - nearly all were there last night. New, young or unfamiliar players, whatever Ferry's rationale, this team should not have lost at least 3 of those non-conference games. Offline Midway though the first half and 7 of 17 DU shots are 3-pointers. Offline Up by 11 at the half. Ended the half with two SFs (Abrahamson & Mike) on the floor with three guards. Offline can't watch at work, but i can check a stat sheet. 35-24 duq, only 4 TOs and 40% FG. Those numbers please me. JRob couldn't get it going offensively, but he's snagged a few nice rebounds and his defense seems to be improving. He had a nice block. Offline Harper at half time with Ray Goss Offline Good effort today. Colgate punched us in the mouth with a 7-0 run to start the second half but the guys responded well. The two freshmen seem to be growing in confidence every game. The emergence of Castro will certainly help our cause in the A10. Glad abrahamson is back. Hopefully his wrist continues to heal because he can be a real asset if he is on. Offline 8 TOs Offline This team defends much better than previous squads, especially the three point shooters, the stop of the second half opening run and the turn around at least shows progress. Lewis II and I Mike continue to impress. Harper at half time with Ray Goss New coaches for men's BB no longer excite me. Lol so if this means that when they fire Ferry and we hire a new coach.......well that won't cause excitement. Offline "Harper at half time with Ray Goss Offline "Harper at half time with Ray Goss Harper also said we had a brutal non-con schedule. Offline Geez, Harper, if you start drinking the Ferry Kool-Aid, I am outta here. Offline I agree - if he really thinks that our non-con schedule was brutal, than I respectfully am saying he was then a hiring mistake. Just look at the friggin' numbers. Maybe we are the armPITT of athletics. Poor head coaches and poor athletic directors. Well, the results will tell - when the attendance keeps staying around 500 (except for yesterday when tons of tix were given away and it was non-working day for many) then it will be up to the President to make changes. Online! ED and FAM, posted this in the Ferry Thread, but worth repeating: Last edited by PhoenixRising2 (12/24/2016 8:15 am) Offline Maybe Mr. Harper was referring to all those early games almost every other day, played by freshman and newcomers along with the returning D. Lewis who looked lost. Offline Maybe he's talking about the WBB schedule. Hell of a mixup. Offline I listened to the entire halftime interview by Ray Goss with Mr. Harper. They had been talking about the WBB and I'm pretty sure the brutal non-conference schedule Mr. Harper was referring to is that of the women's team, which has lost to three nationally-ranked teams. Dukes #208 (6-6) vs Colgate #288 (2-10)
Colgate is ranked 8th of 10 in the Patriot League.
Game prediction: Dukes by 8, 74-66 - Dukes with a 76% probability of a win. (Note: this is the exact score/probability prediction that was calculated for Jackson St. Let's hope the outcome is the same.)

Re: Toothpaste
Smith is playing well and was a real Jumping Jack on the block shot late in the game, nice to see Kale hit some three's, he really stroked the 2nd one from far out.

6-8 months is after this season which I hope means hiring a good coach in the strategic plan. If it isn't hiring a good coach he can put a wet bar in and it won't matter. An excellent coach has to be the center - if he doesn't understand this - then he was not the right man to be hired.

As of this morning, our strength of schedule ranking at KenPom is 343th in the country, the 9th easiest slate. If you pull out the Kentucky game, it's the 2nd easiest schedule (yeah, that's a cherry pick). But to hear Ferry talk about the brutal non-con schedule is disingenuous.
