Offline Abrahamson got beat to a rebound by a guy who was 10 feet behind him. Offline Abrahamson is void of upper body strength, simply a shooter. And not a good one so far this season. Offline Abrahamson is a WASTE. I have said it over and over. He should get ZERO MINUTES. Offline Typical game at LaSalle. Our top three scorers each have three fouls. I remember Wayne Smith got called for one when he was not even involved in a play. Offline Castro keeping us in the game. He just got called for a phantom offensive foul. Offline Apple sorry but he has been overdue for that call. We have been watching all year and he pushes off constantly. Just a really untimely call. Offline LaSalle 24-25 from FT line. Duquesne 5-8. We had 5 players in double figures and lost. Offline This was a VERY WINABLE game but our coaching kills us. Offline Abrahamson is bad on offense and really bad on defense. Castro is playing better than Tarin Smith and should play more. Offline LaSalle 24-25 from FT line. Duquesne 5-8. We had 5 players in double figures and lost. Not sure I've ever seen a team shoot free throws as well as lasalle did tonight. Really impressive. Dukes fought back but to win these road games, they are going to have to build a halftime lead IMO. Offline LaSalle always gets home cooking, but they attacked the basket all night. And they knocked everything down. Imagine if they shot FTs like us, we could have won. Castro is like night and day from last year. Got to hand it to LaSalle for their free throw shooting. Shooting like that wins you games. If they even shoot a very respectable 18/25, the game is up for grabs. If they shoot at a Duquesne rate, they lose. Online! Gave up 52 points in the second half. Our defensive efficiency is 113.7 thru 3 conference games, 13th in the A-10. In 2016, our Conference defensive efficiency was 108.0 (even with our small guards - ha!). Offline Phoenix it's no secret why the 2nd halfs are so bad. They adjust we don't. Offline The problem with Castro though, so far, is wild inconsistency. He's had 2 or 3 of these monster games but in the games in between, nada. Maybe increased minutes overall would help. He seems to be a very streaky shooter. Robinson missed a bunny so no way he was getting back in there. Say, maybe when Coach K returns after his back surgery Jeff Capel will give us a look for next year. Or, maybe not. Say, maybe when Coach K returns after his back surgery Jeff Capel will give us a look for next year. Or, maybe not. Castro's worth goes beyond scoring though. The VCU game was a great example. Their press was giving Lewis and smith a lot of trouble and they were getting out of control. On comes Castro and he calmly beat the press almost every possession and allowed the offense to set up. He has been taking care of the ball which is needed on a team that is playing so many young players. Offline Call this nit-picking. Score 71-68. Time out. Dukes with the ball. Couldn't help but think that the Richmond coach or the Davidson coach or even Martelli would have run a speciality play where they would have gotten the shot they wanted. Granted, we got two contested shots in back to back possessions, and a third (if I recall), didn't score, game over. Can't help but wonder what a guy like Izzo, who is regarded as great coming out of time outs, would have run. Just saying. Offline The problem with Castro though, so far, is wild inconsistency. You know, results from Coach K's coaching tree have been so so. I'd take him though. He failed at Oklahoma, so he's seen as damaged goods by the big schools, but he's the one who started the winning at VCU. Offline Call this nit-picking. Score 71-68. Time out. Dukes with the ball. At that point Blackman had caught fire and he never got a touch on those two possessions.
