Re: Saint Louis Game

Better win this one because the next win won't be until a month from now. Ironically February 11 the Duke's play St. Louis there. In between a whole lot of trouble. 😫😫😫

Re: Saint Louis Game

Obviously a must win. If you can't win this, what can you win? If you win this, you're still alive to reach the middle third of the league (8 wins). The schedule is very front loaded, so the wheels are likely to have come off before they reach the final seven games, five of which are actually winnable.

Let this be the beginning of a Pittsburgh over Missouri sweep this week.

Re: Saint Louis Game

The Dukes will win this one easily.  They just have to play a little defense and you can put this in the "W" column.  St. Louis is as bad as Fordham.

Re: Saint Louis Game

Is this game being streamed on A-10 network?  I don't do Facebook and on the official site that is where is states the video of the game is playing?  I want to watch it on my computer so hopefully there is a viewing option.

Re: Saint Louis Game

Dukes should win this one but no  guarantees this year. Really hard to believe how far the Billikens have fallen in the handful of years since Rick Majerus's passing. It really points up, how a great coach can impact a program. I always had great respect for the man as a coach and person. I agree that this is one of the few remaining games on the schedule where the Dukes are favorites.

Re: Saint Louis Game

Travis Ford is a good coach, at least he was at UMass.  Sounds as though he has a big rebuilding job at SLU.

St. Louis really got put in a bad spot with Crews. Crews is good at actually coaching a team, but everyone knew he would struggle to pull in talent. Because he won so many games with the Jordair Jett team, SLU felt they had to retain him. Big mistake. They should have opened up the job the spring after Rick died. Good coaches would have been lined up to take that job with what was then on the roster.

Re: Saint Louis Game

Giving up 28 points in 11:35 of the first half to the 343th ranked team in offensive efficiency. I get sick watching a Ferry coached team on defense.

Re: Saint Louis Game

Go to the Dukes Men Site and click on LIve - you can get to it that way.

They just showed a whole Palumbo shot - my gosh if there are more than 600 people in the whole place I will be surprised.

Dukes are losing to this terrible team so far in the first half but I think they will come back and win.

Re: Saint Louis Game

I tried watching and turned it off, beside the terrible play, the announcers are like junior high kids calling a game. Hey, Ray Goss may be 80 soon but he can call a game with the best of them, even now.

Re: Saint Louis Game

Nice 12-0 run to get back in the lead by 4.  Billikins are in so much foul trouble they are not even trying for offensive rebounds though.

Re: Saint Louis Game

Really nice effort defensively in the second half. I know we've debated this a lot over the past year, but is there anyone left who doesn't think Castro is a legit A10 guard? He's so steady, which is really needed with the young guys on this team.

Re: Saint Louis Game

Really poor effort in first half outside our freshman and Ferry please hire a foul shooting consultant, this is just unacceptable. 22-36 (61%) and think of the misses on the front end of 1 & 1's - just a joke.  I am sorry, I don't care how many you shoot at practice, are you just reinforcing bad form and technique!!!!!

Re: Saint Louis Game

I know people think I piss on wins - it's really not my intention- but we only had six players score tonight.

I am certainly happy we won though.

Re: Saint Louis Game

Zero fan interest, really pathetic.  They are going to have to start paying people to show up.  Say what you want, but most of us here had season tickets for years, decades even, but until I am convinced they are on the path to relevancy I won't go or give them any $$$$ or time - both of which I've done with some significance in the past.  Call me Doubting Thomas.

Re: Saint Louis Game

No El D you are right, frankly the core of this team illustrates the horrific recruiting by Ferry's staff the first 3 years.  Was Nash in charge?  I don't know, but the best recruits we've gotten are certainly IMike and MLewis, followed by Sanders/Castro (given his performance this year) and T Smith - who despite his ups and downs looks like an A-10 player.  Other than that forget it.  Eric James, can't get off the bench and JRob apparently did...........oh well what's the point.

I thought Kansas City was in Kansas? If it was in Missouri wouldn't it be Missouri City?

Probably 30 students showed. FAM, the nice thing about the attendance is there are never lines at the urinals and concession stands.
