Welcome to SHOO-SHOO, RAH-RAH! The Duquesne Dukes Basketball Fan Message Board!
One of America's Great Message Boards - Any Inappropriate Posts Will Be Deleted!
My observations after watching my first entire Duquesne game ...1: I'm not that pathetic I was working out... 2) they have some talented players unfortunately soft 3: Watch a WVU game coach...4: # 55 great job setting screens then rolling to the basket unfortunately the guards refused to pass him the ball for a layup or dunk. 5: At the tail end of the game in which the Dukes had bad turnovers the Dayton players coaches & fans were openly laughing at the Duquesne players...6. The comments from the announcers & Pete Gilliam @ halftime about the rebuilding job & young team is complete BS; After all it's Ron Everharts fault right! 7;Duquesne offense is parameter heavy does anyone flash to the basket? Archie Miller is a very good coach does he have an assistant who is willing to enter the graveyard of coaches if the AD pulls the trigger. 8; Watching Duquesne basketball is the equivalent to watching a summer AAU game. 9; Charlie you blew it pissed away 4 million unfortunately the University can't sue for breach of contract.10; If the next coach is From NY give me a gun please I know we are all dumb Yinzers but enough of the NY arrogance. Good luck to the new Prez & AD you have been handed a sh#t sandwhich what a mess. Offline Anyone at the game see Steele on the bench? I didn't notice him when they panned the bench. Robinson should get at least as many minutes as he did 2day from here on out. Offline 81 the New York arrogance stemmed from the President at that time, the AD and finally Ferry. That's why it was so bad in the beginning. Now that 2 of the three clowns are gone life is getting a lot worse for Ferry. Online! Good observations, ironduke81. Here's another - Tarin Smith #3 should be barred from taking any 3 ft or longer shots unless shot clock is under 3 seconds. Call it the Tarin 333 rule. He's shooting 20% from 3; and only 44.7% from 2 (probably a 30% non layup percentage). He simply can't shoot. Offline Most of us agree that JRob should be seeing lots of action. On the occasion that Ferry puts him in there, you can quickly notice DU guards trying to get the ball to him. This indicates that his teammates realize he has the hands and good low post moves that make him a scoring threat. So yes, there's an aspect of offense that is there when the guy is on the court, absent when he is not. Online! This was the Flyers’ most lopsided victory at Duquesne, either at PPG Paints Arena or the Palumbo Center, since an 88-44 victory in 2002. Going all the way back to the good old Danny Nee days. Offline i can safely say that there's more excttement around campus this year for this game than other games comparatively both this year and previous years. Aside from City Games, this might be the most well attended game for students in a while. I hope I'm proven right. I counted less than 50 students.... Offline Ferry quote from the Post-Gazette this morning "We're a young team"........Nuff said. Offline Conference weeds out the pretenders, so far Lewis II, I Mike, JRob and Blackman can play with Castro in spurts. The rest are struggling and the kid in his 3rd college, well I wish it had been just two. Kale, at 6-8 he plays 6-1 inside getting swatted and is slower than Ardnt N. From Germany ( but he could put up 30 sometimes ) Offline Ferry quote from the Post-Gazette this morning "We're a young team"........Nuff said. In DK Pittsburgh Sports, he threw the whole damned team under the bus.

Re: Dayton Game
So he got some playing time against Dayton, only (presumably) because of foul trouble. It seemed like the Dayton squad recognized there was a low-post threat, because they really paid close attention to keeping JR from getting the ball, and the DU guards couldn't get the ball to him.
It seems as though our opponents recognize that JR is a threat, but our own coach doesn't feel compelled to deploy that threat.
