Offline Sean Johnson and pantophet Offline Kadeem has shown a few small glimpses, but is clearly lacking confidence in his shot. Sean is a beaten (young) man. He's practically given up and really looks frustrated out there, and it's showing in his anger on the court. Granted it must be difficult to have a new coach as a Senior and all the surrounding BS associated with the change, it's still no excuse for his poor play. Offline The coach needs to get Sean going - you can't let the leading scorer over the past four years sit on the bench that much! The proof is in his points and I am not talking about potential. It is all mental with him and the coach needs to figure it out. Offline Does anyone know why Martin wasn't dressed agains RI? JD said that Martin came down with an illness during the morning shoot around. Tests results were pending... Offline - I say this because let's not forget that these ARE kids and won't be going to the NBA. Kadeem is a grown man. It always bugs me when I hear grown men being referred to as kids. Young men his age are getting their brains blown out in Afghanistan, and there is not an officer in the world who would refer to these guys as "kids". I accept that some players are just not that good, and I would never rip them for that, but as men, they can take some criticism, if it's related to effort. Just a pet peeve of mine. We coddle the younger folks today. That's why we have so many 40 year old adolescents running around. Last edited by duq81 (2/18/2013 12:15 pm) Offline Kadeem has his hand wrapped. Wonder what the injury is and whether this is impacting his shot. If he can't shoot then it appears ferry thinks he is the best defender off the bench. Duquesne had a player from Virginia named Bert Seay who was supposed to be a lights out shooter but never played, he was about 6-2 and could really jump, I asked Mike James about him after he put up 15 on sr. Night. Mike said he was a guy great in practice but never in game situations, maybe Kadeem is like that also? Great practice players that just aren't game players just kill a program, and great game player that aren't good practice players make coaches look dumb. i.e. most Big Guys. They just can't move all the time in practice and just get benched, but in game situations alter shots, tip rebounds to team members and close down the center, in games it's all the difference, in practice it's never apparent. So dumb coaches make examples out of big players for not playing like guards in practice and sit them or play them with a short-leash at game time. i.e. Ferry Offline Duquesne had a player from Virginia named Bert Seay who was supposed to be a lights out shooter but never played, he was about 6-2 and could really jump, I asked Mike James about him after he put up 15 on sr. Abele wasn't getting a whole lot of run last year either, before his academic troubles. Unless one of these big guys can really dominate, neither RE, or Ferry is going to slow down a team by playing them. Unless one of these big guys can really dominate, neither RE, or Ferry is going to slow down a team by playing them. I agree, Ron not getting the big guys in enough hampered us in some big games, and Ferry plays at a slower pace and could be using them to clog up the center and get more boards, but they must be less impressive at practice than how useful they are on game day. Temple a few years back had that big guy Omos and he looked like a lump out on the court, but he played all game and dominated the center at least enough to affect the game. Ferry needs to put Abele in a whole game start to finish to see how he affects the game. It just might supprice him.
Two unproductive players
scoreless and Kadem is a horrible defensive player, his guy hit threes unchallenged and had 19'
Johnson must have no confidence left, dukes 4-12 from free throw line, lose 67-62

Re: Two unproductive players
As far as Kadeem, he seems like a really nice guy but if he can't hit 3 point shots, he gives the team Nothing else. Slow on defense, poor passing, slow down the court, doesn't move well, etc. I am talking about skills, not him as a person - I say this because let's not forget that these ARE kids and won't be going to the NBA. Does anyone know why Martin wasn't dressed agains RI?
