Offline Just heard on the radio I Mike and Lewis 2 got all rookie team. First time in program history we had two guys make the team at once... Richmond had a good year and he was a big part of it. Offline I think it had more to do with our lack of team success. Richmond had a good year and he was a big part of it. Offline How did they possibly pick anyone by ML2 for rookie of the year? Seriously this cat Buckingham had so-so numbers, but played on a much better team, so defenses were paying little attention to him with the League MVP Cline playing next to him. I imagine the coaches don't even fill out the ballots, probably let some team manager do the picking. Offline The only award that I care about is an A10 championship. The other awards, while nice, mean little in comparison.

Who gets your vote? While Mike Lewis seemed to always show up based on these numbers I would say Isiaha Mike, either way we probably got hosed. •Thread Starter

I would argue that without our two guys we may well have had 00000 conference wins. They were almost 100% in terms of games started, so even an outsider would say they had an impact on this team. The starting percentage coupled with the fact that both of our guys have better stat lines proves it should one of them. Remember this is an individual award. Rookie of the year not rookie of the year (competitive teams only)
Maybe a better qualifier: of the three guys, who would you want to build your program around? Not taking a shot at you 2012 I'm wondering what people think about this in general. •Thread Starter

It's a blessing and a curse to have two guys from the same team vying for the same awared. IMike and ML2 probably split the vote, and allowed this cat to sneak in and claim an award he didn't deserve. I'm not saying the kid isn't good, but he had a lot more help than our two freshmen, and nowhere near the pressure facing our guys. Let's see how he does when defenses don't have to deal with TJ Cline.

This is exactly how I feel. While this richmond kid was an important piece on a good team, our two freshman basically carried our team through most of the season with a team that had three seniors on it, two of which basically contributed nothing to our season. Without the freshman we may have 3-6 wins this year. They were our best, most consistent players and would probably be starters or at least major contributors on any A10 team. •Thread Starter
