Offline Offline I'm surprised you are a Tim Cluess fan because his teams rush the ball up the court and launch the first open shot. He wins in his league because he gets more talent than the other schools in the league. He has a nice situation at Iona, He gets a lot of higher end offensive talent by taking a lot of transfers that are unhappy, or not playing at bigger schools. He gives them a lot of freedom to run and gun, and that works for him at Iona. Would it work in a bigger conference? Maybe, or not. Would he have that talent edge against larger programs, year in and year out? Probably not. Cluess has done a great job at Iona with his formula, and has probably turned down opportunities to move up; perhaps a wise move on his part. We got burned by this with Scott Edgar, and Ferry as well. Give me a coach who is successful running a conventional system, and I'll be comfortable that it can work here. Offline Levon, I am not advocating for Cleuss or anyone else. Jim Ferry will be back. I simply liked the hard work approach. Regardless of the level, that type of dedication can only help individuals and a program improve. Presuming, of course, the talent and strategy are there. I still don't get what's Ferry's program is all about. I don't know if he's holding anything back until later in his tenure. But mark my words, he will not only be back next season, you will likely see him at the helm five years from now. Offline I'm not a betting man. But I'd wager a pubic admission of stupidity if anyone but Ferry is on our sideline next season. I'm in. Regardless of whether or not I win, I can at least imagine what your open letter to the Duquesne hoops community might look like. (plus, my stupidity has never been in doubt) Last edited by rosceaux (3/08/2017 10:12 am) Offline Levon, I am not advocating for Cleuss or anyone else. Jim Ferry will be back. Offline We will be a "young" team once again and already have a built in excuse for JF and staff when the team fails to win more than 10 or 12 games. How exasperating! Why do I subject myself to it! Well at least the women should be back with a really good team next season with a real shot at a return to the NCAA's.
Tim Cleuss 12-7-4
As opposed to 5-6-3 (five short guys who launch threes).

I read an article in the trib where Lewis 2 hinted if Ferry goes he might also, I bet he doesn't realize with his scoring and talent he helped lead a team to 22 loses.😁
A diehard fan since 1961
