I've been wrong before (see my prediction about Ferry staying) and I am doing this strictly based on the conjecture of sportswriters offering their opinions. The next Duquesne MBB coach will be: I sure hope you're wrong. Driscoll wouldn't even be on the map if he weren't from Pittsburgh. Being from Pittsburgh should be about 999th on the list of reasons to hire a coach. This guy is Jim Ferry part II. Two winning seasons in eight years. I'd take either of the other two before him. Just my opinion, but I would rather have Mike Rice if we can't get King Rice, Joe Dooley, or John Becker. I agree with duq81 that Driscoll would not be on my list, nor Brandon Knight. If by chance you can't get one of those three, I could live with John Groce. Not my first choice but he's kind of similar to Anthony Grant in that he didn't get fired for losing, he got fired for not winning at a high enough level, unlike Tony Barbee who was a total failure at Auburn. I don't know if he could get us to the next level, but I'd be surprised if he was a disaster. I could live with a guy who got us Jim Baron type results, and I think Groce would do that. Groce would be a great "get" for Duquesne, He won big at OU and as stated, didn't win enough at Illinois. He would instantly give us a legitimate coach and with great incentive to win big to get back into the P-5. Driscoll lost all 3 games against FGCU, and in the A-Sun tourney he got pounded in the second half once Joe Dooley made the adjustments, btw he also had Atlantic Sun player of the year on his squad. Gut feeling - nothing to back it up. Pat Kelsey! Fits everything D. Harper said he wants and has been flying under the radar. I agree, really hoping that Driscoll is not in the mix. If I had to handicap, I would put Kelsey at the top (due to his Xavier/A-10 history), then King Rice followed by John Becker. I don't want to put the stinkeye on the program. Kelsey, King Rice, and Becker are all darned fine candidates. I'll sit back and wait to be pleasantly surprised.

Brandin Knight (the rising star candidate)
One of the three. I would narrow it further to Driscoll or Rice (with Knight as an associate HC).

I truthfully wouldn't have expected us to be in play for Groce except that I've heard rumblings from OU saying that Groce was in the picture with Duquesne.
