Sigh... Been a rough search to say the least.

I find the fact that he looked into it to be encouraging.

I think the opposite. Guys like Rice and Becker are looking at this job and thinking while it would be a large step up in pay and quality of league, the risk may just still outweigh the reward.
LMakes me wonder exactly what we are offering. We are obviously not blowing these guys away to the point where they are willing to buy into the "change in commitment" to this program.
It would be a step up for these coaches , and they seem to be looking at it as a quasi-lateral move. That is what is starting to worry me.

I'm starting to think that maybe we need to go the route of the assistant coach. If we are willing to give someone a head coaching position, then maybe they are more likely to leave. It seems that regardless of the money and better conference plus facilities, coaches aren't willing to come here and risk a good thing. That said, I think you should go for an associate head coach who has a lot of experience in the day to day. I'd prefer:
Baker Dunleavy (Nova)
Travis Steele (Xavier)
Larry Davis (Cincinatti)
Dane Fife (Michigan St. He isn't the associate head coach, so I wonder about his credentials)
In that order.
I would also take LeVelle Moton over any of them, except perhaps Dunleavy.
I'd also take Mitch Henderson.

Michigan State assistant Dane Fife is in advanced talks to replace Jim Ferry at Duquesne, a source told @CBSSports.

Parrish is a legit source. I could definitely be on board with this hire. Former high level player, who became a head coach at a young age, and then got tutored under a great coach like izzo.

It is nice that Mr. Harper is looking at Current Division I coaches and former players who were "very good" when they played. They bring competitiveness, understanding, and an edge. With the current Indiana head coach being "gone" this could be a good time for Coach Fife to make a move. He would have great support from the University and I guarantee you he would be much, much, much, much, better than Jim Ferry. If he ends up at Duquesne, I hope he can keep any guys that "HE WANTS" to keep.

Not to mention the positive press Tom Izzo will give the hire.

Here's a link from an IU outlet:
Based on this article and a bunch of other stuff I've read from IU fans there were people that wanted this kid at least to be interviewed for the Indiana job and some people flat out saying this was who they wanted. Star in the making?

That was quick.

The A-holes on twitter are having a field day with both Becker and Fife turning us down.

how is one person saying one thing and another saying the complete opposite? I know journalism isnt what it used to be, but goodNESS! I can hardly wait for the next Notre Dame football search(long time ND football fan), we were fooled into thinking it was John Gruden, then Urban Meyer, and a bunch of others, to only get Chuck Weis and Brian Kelly.
Why do I keep looking at the car crash when I know the carnage that is there?

This is actually embarrassing now. Amodio only got turned down once, not three times. Jesus.

I am so sick of all of this

I'm pretty sure Mike Lewis II even posted a tweet laughing about how pathetic the situation is.
