rittersdiner, no offense but it seems like the only bring negative comments to this Board.  Are you really Zeise in disguise?

He'll disappear once the team starts winning.

A DU grad, fan for 35 years, member of the board for five years. Tell ya what: If they make the NCAA tournament, I'll never post again. Deal?

Re: Isaiah Mike

Ritter: It doesn't matter to me if they all leave. We're wringing our hands over players who got us 10 wins. Besides, isn't Dambrot a great recruiter? Let him recruit then.

Love the attitude.  Roster of 10-win Ferry recruits.  Wish 'em well, out the door.

Re: Isaiah Mike

Ritters, I don't mind your posts being negative (and somewhat realistic).  That said, I can't help but picture you as the two guys from the Muppets in the gallery who constantly ridicule everything.  My hope is that they go to the NCAA tournament in the next 6 years and that you finally have peace.

Re: Isaiah Mike

Ritters, this is the first time I can remember all the pieces being in place that lay the foundation for success going forward.  The biggest part is the commitment that appears to there on the part of the University so when you say "member of the board" for 5 years are you saying the DU Board or this chat board?

Re: Isaiah Mike

I have to say it is a concern if we don't at least keep Mike Lewis, especially with all the recruits and now Sanders leaving.  Granted we didn't win a lot of games with these guys, but IMike and Mike Lewis are talented players and Sanders and others I believe would have been coached up much better under KD.  Nothing we can do about it now.  Also, am I correct that we have a 5'9" guard transferring in from Akron and we've now offered scholies to two other guards under 5'10"?  If you look at the top A-10 teams all of their guards are generally bigger than that and Ferry finally saw that too late.  I just think that kind of size, especially if you have 3 of them on your roster, does not translate at the A-10 level.  Just an observation as I still believe we got a hell of a coach.

Re: Isaiah Mike

Pistol Pete, buy season tickets, drink a couple of beers and leave the coaching and recruiting to a guy who has over 300 D-1 wins under his belt.  If all of these guys leave (probably to never be heard of again i.e., there is no TJ here), it will take Coach D longer to reach goals but I wouldn't doubt that he will get the Duquesne program where we all would like to see it.  Would you trade (all of these players plus JF) for (Coach D)?   If the answer is yes, then there is no use in lamenting what these players do.  It is out of everyone's control and each of them has to do what he believes is best for him.

Re: Isaiah Mike

As usual Professor a fair and thoughtful response!  I will follow your suggestion on 3 out of 4, but half the fun of the Board is commenting on recruiting so that is too hard to resist.  That being said, the verdict is really how the kids do in the games that count so we will just have to wait and see.

They have more hair than I do.

BTW, I haven't ridiculed the hiring. I think it might be a good one. My only concern? The money.

Oh, I wish it were the DU board. Pay raise.

I'm stuck here with you mucks.

I like the sound of that.

Re: Isaiah Mike

Ritters. If you think that Isiaha Mike was anything but passionate about trying to help his team win you are either blind or just don't pay attention. That kid wore his heart on his sleeve and did everything in his power to motivate this team. Maybe he was tired of the losing culture here and has a better situation somewhere else. But for you to say the kid didn't want to be here is simply selfish. It will be hard for a team with one scorer, an undersized scorer at that (MLewis) to carry this team the way he needs to for them to be any good next year.

There are glass half full people, there are glass half empty people.

Rittersdiner is a break all the glasses and see if anyone will drink out of the gutter kind of guy.

Isiaha Mike is a heck of a player and no doubt it would have been easier rebuild for Coach D if he had stayed at DU.  However, I would caution you or anyone else to render conclusions on this team, or how any player will do, until Coach D has completed recruiting.  Holes can be plugged with the right combination of freshman, Juco, and grad transfers.

Here here. Ultimately even when recruiting wraps up we won't know exactly what we have until tip off next year.

That brings up a question, Has anyone heard whether or not there will be another summer pro am this year?
