Re: Jordan Robinson commits to DU

I think the goal is to build a good team, and the league business will take care of itself.  The A-10 will still be very good, and more than a challenge.  If you are good in a league of that caliber you will get noticed.  Look at Butler and Gonzaga for example; until this season Butler played in a pretty weak league, but they were very good, and they ended up playing for the national championship.  Gonzaga's league has never been compared with one of the best in the country, yet they are now rated #1 in the nation.  Don't worry about our league, just take care of building Duquesne into one of the best programs in the A-10.

Re: Jordan Robinson commits to DU

Levon & Pres, you guys hit the nail squarely on the head!!  Steve, you hearing anything about how seriously/hotly we are pursuing the PG from Montour (D. Wilson)?  He has some good size for a PG and his recruitment really seems to be picking up according to a couple recruiting web sites.  It also seems from looking at the College Recruiting web site and ESPN that Severe is getting closer to a decision.  I really hope we get Severe or Notice and frankly I'd like to see us get a PG with the size and drive like this Wilson seems to have as well.

Re: Jordan Robinson commits to DU

We have two scholarships to offer and both are going to big men. To bring in guards we have to have additional players transfer. Two guards means two leave. Who?

We have 3 right now:  Johnson, Marhold, and Torres.    2 are committed.

Re: Jordan Robinson commits to DU

We have three ships, not two. Remember, Torres transferred over Christmas. I expect that only Ferry's recruits, and the two seniors to be will be held over. Say goodbye to Panto, Datt, and Martin.

Honestly, I think Kadeem is back. Martin probably won't leave unless he's done playing basketball or wants to drop down a division. Remember, he's already burned his redshirt because he was inelligible.  Maybe Datt goes to Seattle.

Re: Jordan Robinson commits to DU

I said this before, based on the recruiting activity Ferry is looking tol sign two guards which means that either Datt or Martin will transfer.

Re: Jordan Robinson commits to DU

I hear from a source close to him that Mamadou Datt is not happy with his PT, and his situation in general.  Don't be surprised if he walks (or is helped to walk) away.

Re: Jordan Robinson commits to DU

I can't believe that Panto will be gone. Too much upside to cut him loose IMO. One of his best efforts last night and I truly expect that of him on a regular basis moving forward. Could start next year. Needs to spend more time in weight room.

This would not surprise me in the least. Unfortunately, Mamadou came to us with great athleticism and few basketball skills. He has so far to go in his development that he will be of little value to the team in the next two years, IMO. Wishing him the best but we need the scholarship way more than we need him, as harsh as this sounds.
