Re: Duquesne lands a transfer from Memphis

A potential good get. A PG that can score. According to sources he has played out of position for the past two season. was averaging 11ppg early in the season.

Re: Duquesne lands a transfer from Memphis

Before he went to Memphis, had several HM offers as a PG.

Man, this kid can really score, he has obvious talent. Great handles, ability to both catch and shoot as well as creating space for his own shot. Silky smooth stroke and a quick release, range looks basically unlimited.

Someone mentioned him being played out of position, he looks a lot more like a shooting guard than a point guard to me based on this tape.

Looks like he can also get to the basket and score with that length, he looks like a 15-20 pts/game guy in the A10. More video I see the more I like this kid.

Re: Duquesne lands a transfer from Memphis

He said he played mostly point prior to going to Memphis where they moved him to the 2.  I agree that his profile is more like a two guard, but perhaps he scores better from the point within the flow of the action.  The coaches will have plenty of time to work him out and see where he fits, perhaps perfect his shot from deep.  I like him going to the hoop, so they just need to determine they can unleash him as a scorer in the A-10.

Re: Duquesne lands a transfer from Memphis

Randall was a guy recruited by Josh P. probably as a point. When Tubby came in last year, he made the switch. Anyway, this kid is a talent.

Re: Duquesne lands a transfer from Memphis

Interesting tidbit, although Memphis moved to the AAC a couple years ago when it was formed, they were previously in Conference USA for a long time.

Recently, we had another guy transfer in from the same conference. The season before he played for us he averaged 8 pts and 6 rebs a games as a junior, nothing that exciting. However you watched the season tapes, and his skill and athleticism jumped off the screen, no pun intended.

He came to Duquesne and averaged 18 and 8. He was the leading scorer in the A10 that year, and put the team on his back for the entire season and was most of the reason for any of the wins we got that year, putting on dominating offensive displays game after game. He was the main reason we beat SLU at SLU that year. They were ranked like 11 or 12 in the nation and had something like 25+ wins and 1 or 2 losses at the time. That guy was Ovie Soko.

Hoping Randall can provide some similar contribution and production to the Dukes!
