Open Scholarships

Right now we are back to 4 open scholarships, assuming Lewis Djonkam is still committed (by the way I wish PSN would follow up on that).  If we were to look at this by class, right now we have: 2 Seniors (James & Robinson), 2 juniors (Smith & Krivacevic), 3 sophomores (Lewis, Littleson & Randall) and 2 freshman (Djonkam & Dunn-Martin).

What I would like to see us recruit is (just my wish list):  The best grad transfer SF we can find, I we were to get a grad transfer this would get us back to three scholarships for 2018. Then I would push for Jackson (PG), Ballantyne (PF/C), & Collins (SG/SF) that would give us 5 freshman (I don't think we want more than 5 freshman).  The fall backs would be Colon (PG), Washington (SF./PF) and the best available grad transfer, or JUCO (SG).

Re: Open Scholarships

My wish list is slightly different:

Washington, Collins, Ballantyne.

I think Jackson and ballantyne might be a package deal. They have been friends and teammates for a longtime.

If that's the case I would want Jackson, Ballantyne, Washington, and a grad transfer that could start and play the 4 or 5. Doesn't have to be the best player on the team but if he could rebound, defend, and play smart basketball that would go a long way for next season.

Re: Open Scholarships

How many scholarship players is a team allowed to carry on its roster?  I am assuming this includes players on scholarship that have to sit out a year - Dunn-Martin and Randall.  The four I really like are Jackson, Collins, Washington and Ballantyne and I'd like to get them all, but if we are only allowed 3 than I would take Jackson, Collins and Ballantyne (if getting Jackson is a package deal) as you  still have another big (Djonkam) coming in.  I really think we need a shooting guard, especially next year, to go with the needed bigs and with Robinson, Djonkam and Ballantyne or Washington you would have at least 3 bigs.  I know 4 bigs would be better, but we may not have that luxury.  Again, somehow I would like to get all four guys.

Re: Open Scholarships

My bad, I just forgot about my new favorite Hungarian!  So I would definitely say go with Collins, Jackson and Ballantyne or Washington if we only have 3 left.  That gives us still 4 bigs for next year - Robinson, Djonkam and Ballantyne or Washington, plus Krivacevic.
