Offline I see that many of you are posting that you aren't expecting much from Keith Dambrot's first season as basketball coach. I'm of the opposite opinion. I'm expecting major improvement. Certainly not in terms of the team's won/loss record as I'm not expecting Keith to keep his streak of 21+ win seasons going, but in terms of what we see on the floor as the games play out. Offline As I recall, RE took a team of 3 overall wins to 11 wins his first year. Great Expectations
I'm expecting to see a major improvement as far as teamwork and player development are concerned. I'm expecting to see good, strong defense. I'm expecting to see good ball movement and plays run well. That's because Keith Dambrot's teams have exhibited these characteristics for years, hence the resulting 21+ wins a year streak.
We probably won't top the .500 mark in winning percentage (although of we do it won't surprise me), but I do expect to see a much improved program beginning from the very first game.
Re: Great Expectations
I expect KD to mean what he said. Good defense, efficient offense and
smart team play. I also expect competent game coaching and strategies. No more 'just play hard.'
I expect 14-15 wins perhaps a winning season.

I have no idea what to expect from the season. My hopes are based on process, not on outcome. I hope they can pile up some wins, but I am more interested in the season-long development of individuals and ecspecially of a team identity.
I also appreciate the talk about changing the cultural identity of Duquesne basketball. Given the past forty years, an overhaul is neccesarry. I appreciate that this has been coming from the coach, the AD, president, and the players themselves. I value ML2's committment to the program and the leadership he will be providing on and off the court.Any signs of continuing this transformation (on the court, in practice, use of language, community outreach) will show me that the entire program is continuing to move in the right direction.
Go Dukes!
