    Athletics Announcement at 4

    Various Duquesne related Twitter accounts have been teasing about a big announcement coming 4 today. My guess... they will announce that they are changing to Nike and that the basketball team will wear lebron line items.

    Get that color mixing going on like Oregon.  Red, white and blue leaves a lot of options.  
    I think those were quick make uniforms to show people something now.  I hope they go back to the drawing board and come up with some cool stuff.  Nike certainly can supply it.

    I was going to say no way those are the final product. Thats like the most basic, cheap stuff Nike has. They probably just wanted to have something for pictures with the announcement. Even the lettering was not done by Nike on the uniforms.

    This is ridiculous that it is a fact but for the older guys I can't even tell you how much of a major, major recruiting boost this will give us. All kids these days want to wear Nike. They are smart and have aligned their brand with basically the biggest stars in every sport which makes them the most desired sports apparrel for kids to wear. This is just another step in being a legit program in today's college sports. Harper continues to impress me.

    I too hope these aren't the real unis. The last group of unis were very good, especially the throwbacks to the 50s, and 70s.

    Well in the link I posted above you have quotes from Dambrot and Dan Burt both expressing how they both feel this will help to boost recruiting and that it should raise the profile of the programs and be more attractive to potential recruiting targets.

    You may not care what they wear but I'm almost positive you would like to see us bring in the best possible recruits we can get for the men and women's team. As insignificant as this may seem this will help with that.

    Then came Converse Chuck Taylors.  I'm still wearing Chuck Taylors.

    When I grew up in the 50's our shoes were Keds. Not sure what else was out there back then!
