Offline Kind of funny isn't it! Offline I appreciate the loyalty Ferry showed to LIU. He didn't take any players or recruits over with him from LIU to Duquesne, and that is part of the success of LIU. It may mean an extra year here to rebuild, but if he does the same going forward if he can build a winner here we'll appreciate it much the same way. Im not willing to say that at all. I have never had anything against Ferry. Offline I really can't imagine that DU will not ever go dancing. I could see the possibility by Ferry's fourth year in fact. I base that on his current recruiting which has been solid to date. Am I the eternal optimist? Maybe, but my optimism is rooted in the job that I believe Ferry and staff are doing and will continue to do. This figures to be another above average year with two bigs and hopefully a solid guard or two. The third year class could have even a better player or players than we have seen so far. Only time will tell but it certainly doesn't hurt to stay enthused! Offline This is the third straight year LIU-Brooklyn won their league and advanced to the NCAA. That tells me that Jim Ferry built a program from next to nothing that has remained successful for three straight years, and promises to continue to be a strong program in its league. They also accomplished their championship run this year without their best player who was injured before the tournament. I think this is a most positive sign for the future of the Dukes. The goal is to build a lasting program rather than to succeed only one year and sink to the bottom of the league the following year. It takes a little longer to build a sustainable program, but the results will be much more enjoyable. Offline I'm with you Pres and Levon, let's give the guy a chance and for those that say he left and LIU still made the tourney this year, well that speaks volumes to what JF left in the cupboard. Offline Kind of funny isn't it! took him almost 10 years, does he get that at DU? Offline Kind of funny isn't it! took him almost 10 years, does he get that at DU?
Jim Ferry and LIU Brooklyn
Ferry leaves and his team still makes the Big Dance without him. I guess that indicates he can build a program.
Sorry Jim, you have made your last NCAA tournment, sad to say!

If you didn't get a chance to catch the title game of the NEC, I do encourage you to watch the play-in (err...first round) game. They're a fun team to watch, and if Ferry can bring that style of play here it will be entertaining...and we'll win a good bit too.

I seriously doubt that he will need anything close to 10 years here. As I previously stated, he will have an excellent team by year 4, IMO. Certainly a winning record by year 3.
