Re: Micah

I have never seen Micah play either in high school or at Drake but I do recall some real concerns about his ability to handle the ball and play D. The other side of the coin is that 50% 3-point shooters just don't come around that often. There has to be a place for a player like him somewhere on a D-1 roster, maybe even ours.

Re: Micah

I watched him play once as a junior at home and once as a senior on the road at Valley HS in New Ken. His skills make him a two guard, although he had to handle the ball a lot. I think he's better at bringing up the ball than Sean Johnson was when he was put into that role this year. He is not a tenacious defender, nor is he super quick. He is both a shooter and a scorer. By that I mean that if he is off, he will continue to find ways to score, especially by getting to the line, where he is automatic. If he were on our team, I think his role would to be to come off the bench and shoot 3s, similar to the red haired kid from Xavier who fills that role for them. Given our scholarship situation, I don't see him getting an offer from us; we are looking at bigger, faster players. He has done a remarkable job of turning himself into a very good player, practicing shots for hours at a time. There should be no criticism of him coming back to this area, given his medical condition and the need for a special diet.

I wish him good luck and good health wherever he lands.

Re: Micah

I agree with your comment 'Pres" and also wish him the best regardless of his destination.  Micah has proven to be an extremely hard worker; and as he becomes more comfortable dealing with this diet restrictions, he should make progress in getting stronger.  In addition to being an incredible shooter, I have seen him make beautiful passes as well.  GIven a good surrounding cast he will find the open man as well as bury the three.  I think in his time at Drake he has proven he can contribute at this level.

Re: Micah

would have to sit out a year, but would allow him to get stronger and hook up with Colter in his junior year.  DU needs a sharp shooter.  Hope Ferry is talking to him.
