Brian Bosworth‏@bosworthhoopsNational Prep Championships Quarters - Top Guards (Shadell Millinghaus, Terry Rozier, Duane Notice, Ron Patterson) http://bosworthhoops.blogspot.com/2013/03/national

Duane Notice (St Thomas More 2013) - unsigned - Often the forgotten man on this loaded summer team CIA Bounce, Notice plays a more prominent role for St Thomas More. Playing mostly off the ball on this day, the combo guard is a devastating driver with his right hand and either gets to the rim or creates an easy shot for a teammate nearly every time he attacks. Notice's game will expand on his improves his jump shot and his left hand and mid to high major coaches should try to lock up his services now and hope that improvement comes on their watch

Re: Recruiting

is it too early to recruit Matthew McConnell,  TJ's brother?  He's showing some promise in the playoffs.

I see where Micah Mason has decided to transfer from Drake per the Trib

http://triblive.com/sports/college/ncaa/3668814-74/mason-drake-beckner?showmobile=false#axzz2NcytXNiB

I would be surprised if DU recruits him.

Drake was a really odd fit for for him to begin with. My gut says he ends up at rmu, but I wouldn't be surprised to see ferry offer him a scholly.

He can really shoot the three, but can he guard anyone? My guess is that he ends up at St. Francis.

Thats definitely a possibility. He would be a really solid Nec player.

Micah decision is based on health concerns.  This article explains a lot.  I wish him all the best.

Re: Recruiting

Micah should have been a Duke from the beginning, the coaching change made that difficult; so here is a chance make that right.  I would definitely like to see him at Duquesne.  Shooters like him don't come around often, and we haven't had a deadly three point shooter in quite a while.  It would be fun to watch.

The coaching change had nothing to do with Mason going to Drake. He didn't fit Ron's system

Levon, I agree this kid is a terrific shooter.  I did not think DU would recruit him as he would have to sit out a year, but it is possible he could be granted a hardship waiver, and be eligible next year.  If some else transfers at DU and we still have two scholarships left so we could sign Notice and a point guard he could be an interesting option.

Re: Recruiting

Duquesne had some pretty great walk-ons over the years.  Some parlayed just going to DU into a scholarship.  Many ways to slice this.  And there is always a place for a shooter.

Thanks for the video.  Hope he had a great visit last weekend.  In Ferry's post game show at Richmond he said he has visitors scheduled for next weekend, but I have not seen anything yet who it or they may be.

This is a kid we were recruiting at one time.  I am not sure if we are still interested but it looks like he is back on the market.

Also this on Duane Notice

William Gunter‏@WillGunter2473h2013 SG Duane Notice (St.Thomas More/CT) will take an official visit to South Carolina this coming weekend.

Severe to cut down his list

http://duquesne.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1486204

He has offers from Boston College, Duquesne, Fordham, George Washington, Pitt and West Virginia.  Severe said he would cut his list down Saturday.  He's not sure how many schools he will shave off his list or when he will make his final decision.

Re: Recruiting

All I know is I am a lot more excited about Watkins and Robinson coming in than I was about Jack and Moore (not a knock on Ron).  A great guard would be just gravy, and the more big bulky athletic guys, the better.  P. S.  If anyone really wants to get rid of Ferry right now and get a "big name" coach, just go over to the tree and cut poor Jamie Dixon down.  And if timing is so important, it just might be a real good time to move up in the Atlantic 10 in the next couple of years and grab one of those 2 or 3 invites to the big dance,  The big East may get 6 or 7 invites, but there will be a lot of competion for those slots resulting in a lot of good "name" teams sitting at home.
