Re: Eric Williams Bleacher Report No. 10 Super Freshmen

Even in an article hyping one of the best freshmen in the conference, if not the country, BR still has to poke fun at Duquesne

I hate myself for loving you. Quoting me without the expressed written consent of the National Hockey League is prohibited.

Re: Eric Williams Bleacher Report No. 10 Super Freshmen

I'll take the good exposure and ignore the back-handed review.. The A10 hasn't set the world on fire in OOC by any stretch.

Re: Eric Williams Bleacher Report No. 10 Super Freshmen

Great exposure considering every other player on the list was a big time recruit. Trae Young is having the best freshman season I have ever seen. Unreal stats.

Well, they took a slap at Pitt too if that makes you feel any better.

"Duquesne has not played anyone worth mentioning—unless you think Pittsburgh qualifies. The Dukes have yet to win a game against a KenPom.com top-300 team. Suffice it to say, there has been no reason for an impartial fan of the game to be keeping tabs on Duquesne.

Williams might be changing that, though."

I honestly think this is nothing more than the truth, as I mentioned some of this in tonight's game thread. Quite honestly with the last 40 years of history, why would anybody with no skin in the game care about DU hoops? That's ok, we're starting to give a reason for people to watch and that's all that matters. The last sentence actually puts a positive spin on the statement in my opinion.

Although I found this part to be lazy reporting at best. Reb numbers have been pretty good:

"As one of the only players on this roster even remotely committed to rebounding, there's no good reason....."

The writer was only speaking the truth.  As one of the few teams who have not been to the Big Dance in four decades we deserve everything we get until we correct that (and just think all of these bad OOC schools we are beating up on right now have been there at least once), and yes Pitt is down this year and the A 10 is down as well.

That's right, you have to walk before you can run, and it looks like we're finally starting to take REAL steps.

Yes, the idea that Williams is even being noticed says a ton.

MSVU just did some kind of New Zealand rugby style demonstration at the end of warmups. Running around, yelling, diving on the floor. Pretty strange stuff.
