Re: Highlights from the 3ot win

That was a pretty exciting game to announce.  The fans were incredible.

Re: Highlights from the 3ot win

In those highlights, it sure sounds like the NBC announcer says “f**king Lewis will not be denied” when he hit the last 3. 😂 I felt the same when watching it.

Re: Highlights from the 3ot win

Glad I ignored the weather, roads and Penguin traffic.
Cannot recall attending a college game I enjoyed more.
When it ended the folks in my area ( end zone ) were high-fiving.....hugging.....laughing.

Re: Highlights from the 3ot win

As I watched on TV I remembered sold out games in years past at Palumbo when it was so loud and electric.

I think that those days will be returning once again. And look forward to flying up from Fl to cheer on the Dukes.

Re: Highlights from the 3ot win

I DVR'd the game, but selected only a 30 minute extension for the recording and only got it to halfway through the second OT before it ended.

Here's NBCSN's highlights:
http://vplayer.nbcsports.com/p/BxmELC/nbcsports_embed/select/media/BMhPuQz_Tihu

And I had a few people who thought the game was over and were shocked when I told them the final score so I was hoping for an archive online or more in depth highlights to show them. Certainly, it isn't the best quality by any means, but I put together a package of the final minute of OT to highlight where the Dukes were and how they ended up forcing the second OT.

😳 Sounded that way to me.

Re: Highlights from the 3ot win

Couple of things I noticed on the replays. Brown looked to be giving Dambrot some back talk and Castro was lucky not to be called for a foul at the end of regulation.Oh, one other thing. Mike Lewis wasn't going to let us lose.

THANK YOU!  I needed to see this again to believe it!
I wonder if we can get Ray and Jarrett's call?

Re: Highlights from the 3ot win

Just an unbelievable sequence. At the game. Two of my "former" friends left near the end of the 1st OT as some others did. I had my coat on but couldn't desert the team. Made the right decision no matter the outcome but what an outcome! Can't say that I've ever been in attendance at anything like this. Great effort by all and great day for Duquesne basketball. Really good to see the  gradual improvement in our bigs. CB and JRob have really stepped up their games. This team will hang with anybody in the A-10. TV will be great before he leaves the program.  Go Dukes!!

Re: Highlights from the 3ot win

Man, up 6 points with two free throws and only 38 seconds left. I forgot how dire it was, yet LaSalle couldn't hit free throws in front of the Crew .

There is nothing in that clip that looks like Brown giving KD any lip. Looks more like he was shouting to be heard over the loud crowd.

By the way, The announcer said "bucket Lewis", not a curse word.

Re: Highlights from the 3ot win

Duq81, I like your version of the Brown and Damrot talk better than mine. The Castro thing was at the end of the first O.T. I didn't think he fouled him but I've seen a lot worse calls than that go against us. One last thing. How abut being down 6 with a half minute to go and not shooting any 3's and being able to tie the game.

Smith hit a 3 with 31 seconds left to cut it to 3 (78-75).

Oops. I'm wrong again. I think I can make a habit of this.

Re: Highlights from the 3ot win

Took another look and down 4 our last 6 points came on a Smith lay up and 2 at the line for Smith followed by the Taylor put back. Counting that 3 by Smith he had 7 of the last 9 points in 1st o.t.

You nailed that one, WashPaRick. You’re just like the Dukes - a good finisher.

On the last second play:  The LaSalle player stepped on or over the line before any contact with RCC. You can see the official making the out-of-bounds call as the horn sounds.

That play on the sideline made me nervous as well. I remember TJ cursing at Ron on the floor. Don't like that type of stuff.
