Offline Scott Elliott wrote a great article detailing the work and training that Mike put in that directly led to his incredible performance in the 3rd OT. Offline Great to see when the hard work pays off in a big win! Mike's shot has improved so much since last season. He goes up much stronger, and has extended his range and consistency of his stroke. Even when he misses the stroke looks good and I expect it to splash the net! I like the fact that he can also hit the mid-range shot if necessary and he can still get to the hoop!. Mike's jump shot has improved leaps and bounds since last year, and that's saying a lot as he scored extremely effectively as a freshman.
Mike Lewis II
Re: Mike Lewis II
I think we tend to overlook how much hard work these guys put in to the game to be able to perform in games. I am guilty of this myself. The work is just as demanding for the players whether you win or lose. It is clear that this group of players is putting in the extra work to improve their skills over and above the team practices. We should all be very proud at how these guys are representing the Dukes uniform!

You said it well and it's easy to see in person, his jump shot looks EXACTLY the same whether it's an open look, a shot in traffic, or a quick pull up. He looks almost perfect in terms of his squaring up, high pointing the ball, and releasing without any wasted movement and he also has a quick release.
It's a thing of beauty and like you said, seems to splash the net most times. He works with that NBA skills guy in the summer, and you can see how much work he put in when he shoots. It's textbook form and extremely consistent.
