According to Alex Kline. Pray we can get this kid. Go Dukes!
"Friday and Saturday will be a big day for the Northern Kings AAU program out of Canada as 2013 power forward Matthew Atewe and 2013 guard Duane Notice make their college decisions. Since getting to their respective prep schools, Notre Dame Prep (MA) and St. Thomas More (CT), the stock of both has shot up.
Down to Auburn, Nebraska, Charlotte and Nevada, Atewe has visited all four schools officially and had Nebraska's staff in for a visit on Monday. He will make his choice official on Saturday.
Notice is coming off of visits to Duquesne and South Carolina. Both schools are in contention for his services, along with Creighton. He will make his choice tentatively official on Friday."

I think he would be a huge "get" for us.

Certainly a lot of competition. He seemed really high on SC. I have to think Frank Martin is putting the full press on this kid. Also it seems like Creighton is coming in late and are after all the same kids we have offered... Severe, Notice, TraVaughn Wite (a juco from Independence CC who visited last weekend), and Deving Brooks a JUCO from Iowa Western CC (this may be the kid from NYC you are thinking of).
I do not have a good feeing about Severe. I would like to see us land Notice and TraVaugh who originally committed to the Bonnies and led the JUCO ranks in scoring this season.

Would you still want White after getting Ridenour? He's only 5'9 so he can't play the 2.

To me the biggest need for this team is ball handlers. White, while on the small side (I saw him listed at 6'0") can fit that bill and provide scoring. I don't think the coaches would have brought him in for a visit if they did not think he could help. I would rather have Severe and Notice but don't think that will happpen. If we got Notice I believe he can play 2 - 3 (at 6'4" with a big frame), Ridenour can sky and can play 1-2. White could handle the point with Colter and with Binney and Jeremiah we would have the kind of guards we need to go high octaine. We will be better in the front court with Soko, Watkins & Robinson, but probably could still use help. Maybe if we shave two to give, and we get Notice, Ferry may go for another front court player. We will see. If we don't get Duane Notice it may be we take White and if we still have one left hold it to see if we get Severe or a quality late surprise. These guys get big bucks to figure this out.

CLK, I couldn't have said it better myself! I do hope it works out that we get Notice, but certainly we are pushing strong for a number of players. Notice will certainly fill a position of need and it would be so nice to beat out one of these other programs for a quality recruit. C'mon D. Notice, join your boys Watkins and Robinson and come play for the Dukes!! Clk i read about the other JC guard (White) somewhere in the past, but can you please fill me in on Deving Brooks as I haven't heard anyting about him. GO DUKES!!!

I'm glad he's not dragging it out like Severe. At least we'll know one way or the other while alternatives are still out there.

Brooks is the guy I was talking about.

Duane Notice's twitter account. A lot of interesting posts. Looks like he will announce his decision now on Saturday at 10:00 pm on twitter.

Big night for DU fans as he will make his decision known on twitter at 10 pm. Here is hoping he picks the Dukes. He is a big explosive guard who can defend. He would definitely make this recruiting class one of the best in a long time, with the possibilty of being even better if we still have another ship available.

I can't remember this much anticipation around a signing since probably Fortson. Would love to see this kid come here with his Canadian brethren, and be the nucleus that gets us back into the NCAA Tournament.

Duane will play in November if he comes here. He'll play in Nov 2016 if he goes to SC Gamewonks.

I was thinking the same thing about Fortson with the Baldanado announcement a close second.

I remember Marcus Walker's recruitment in 2005 being a pretty big deal, but completely flamed out at Nebraska.

The difference between this, and those previous years, is that this would cap a great class, while we were depending on those others to basically make the class.

This interest regarding recruitment seems out of the normal to me. I follow Penn State in football, and the anticipation surrounding Notice is similar to what most of Penn State's recruits have. Usually, the Dukes get a guy who commits and we find out about it 6 weeks later, minus any fanfare whatsoever.
Actually, it's kind of nice to have the speculation and I have my fingers crossed on getting him.

Where's the Inner Circle when you need them?

He wears a huge cross on his necklace. Let's hope he wants to be at a religious uni.

Nothing yet? Maybe he's gonna' hold off.
