Wow. He was there quite a while.

Oats at Buf and Cluess at Iona now have two open A10 jobs open.
PItt can pay better but LaSalle and URI would be easier and offer
more job security.
How about Scott Edgar? He is coaching the Easter Ok State junior college team.

Oats isn't leaving Buffalo for LaSalle. Plus he has a million dollar buyout. Pitt can pay it, plus pay him 2 million plus a year, LaSalle can't. LaSalle will be looking at the same guys we did last year. Maybe King Rice will jump this time.

King Rice is Jim Ferry. Two big seasons (best they got him was NIT) and four years winning 30% of his games.

You’re on the money ElDuque !!!

Just a hunch, but I think La Salle goes the assistant route.

I was on a Pitt message board.
Gene Hackman and Danny Nee were mentioned as possible coaching candidates.
They also complain about the rumors spread by the media.
Same complaints we had when DU had their search to replace Ferry.

Also, Jim Satalin was mentioned.
I wonder if Nick Nolte who played Pete Bell, the coach in the film Blue Chips,
would be available.

Pitt will pay 3.5mm plus any buyout. Pitts proposed salary makes pitt a top 15 job in the country based on salary. Heard this on radio and read it in an article. Their fans are having a meltdown, but they will get a good coach throwing money like that around.

Any good coach that can jump their salary almost an order of magnitude should be seeking that job, in spite of the short term negatives. Established head coaches at successful programs, not so much.
Certainly hope the Dukes crush Pittiful every year, but that program will come back to at least respectability eventually.

We're more like Pitt football, dreaming of long gone days of glory.

They should go find Jimmy Dolan.
Props to anyone who gets the reference without Googling it.
